Here's a Shocker: He's Stiffing the Staff

Source: DAILY KOZ

Reuters is reporting the single least-surprising piece of campaign news this season:

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has run an unusually cheap campaign in part by not paying at least 10 top staffers, consultants and advisers, some of whom are no longer with the campaign, according to a review of federal campaign finance filings.

Those who have so far not been paid, the filings show, include recently departed campaign manager Paul Manafort, California state director Tim Clark, communications director Michael Caputo and a pair of senior aides who left the campaign in June to immediately go to work for a Trump Super PAC.

While this should surprise precisely no one who’s paid the least bit of attention to Himself’s business career, it is far from the norm in the business of running political campaigns, particularly those playing in the biggest of big leagues.

Among the stiffees listed are Manafort, Rick Wiley, Barry Bennett, Rick Gates and the latest hand on the good ship Himself, Ms. Conway.

I can picture him saying "I'm not paying you because you failed to increase my poll numbers."

anywhere near the assets he claims to have. All he is is a bullshitter. He's lied so much about himself through the years that he probably believes his own bullshit now. Billionaire, my ass! Show me some figures from a reputable source. He calls everyone else a loser and a failure, but I think he's the biggest failure of them all.

Couldn't you just see his mind working that way? I mean, its not like other GOP candidates in recent election cycles haven't used the earlier parts of campaigns simply to raise money for themselves. He just took it to the next level.

I can only hope the people he burns will be so pissed off at the GOP they will stop participating in politics forever!

One fair size party for the MRA-Libertarians.
One very substantial party for the right wing conservative Christians.
One tiny little leftover party for the sane, non-bigoted Republicans.

I suspect the GOP will split into ultra right wingers and moderates. Then I wouldn't be surprised if the centrist Democrats split from the liberal/progressives and merge with the moderate GOP. The right wing nuts are too crazy to sustain an organization so they will be left out in the cold, bringing us back to a two party system, social liberals and fiscal conservatives.

that is where the money is.Under campaign rules, any SuperPac money can be moved around until it is untraceable, essentially.

That is how/why Palin has her SuperPac to this day.

I wouldn't be surprised if some agreed to work for free in exchange for positions in his administration when he wins. Not that he'll win, but I imagine some of his underlings are just as arrogant as he is.
