Donald Trump appears to contradict Mexican president on not paying for wall: ‘He didn’t say that’

Source: MSN/Washington Post

In a new interview with ABC News, Donald Trump's recollection appears to differ with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto's account of their meeting last week when it comes to a key subject: Whether Peña Nieto actually said that Mexico wouldn't pay for Trump's proposed border wall.

Trump had said at a press conference following the meeting that the two had not discussed Trump's campaign promise that Mexico would pay for the wall between the United States and his country.

But shortly after the meeting, Peña Nieto's spokesman clarified and Peña Nieto himself tweeted that he had, in fact, brought up the wall and had told Trump in no uncertain terms that Mexico would not be paying for it.

Trump's comments Monday also notably contradict what his top backer, Rudy Giuliani, said about the meeting last week. Giuliani said that Peña Nieto didn't bring it up at the start of the meeting, but that he mentioned payment for the wall.

1. All this talk about ''The Wall" .. it's ridiculous. What wall? There is no wall.

This alleged Wall will have to go 100 feet deep. Because when you're hungry and desperate, nothing, nothing, can stop you. If you can't go over it, you will dig under it. Perhaps helping Mexico create jobs for their people would be cheaper. When you have entities like the ''Alt-right" in this country, who the hell wants to live here?

Trump's on top of tunneling.

You'd think Mexico would want the wall to keep our guns out - and make us pay for it.

That covers all the reasonably accessible areas.
The one on Tijuana beach extends 300 feet into the ocean.

3. Pena Nieto speaking in Spanish. Trump doesn't understand Spanish & depends on translator.

Trump has short attention span, doesn't listen or hear what translator says.
Etc.,etc.,etc.

Not important anyway, and as a candidate, not a representative of US government, Trump shouldn't have been there.

Former Mexican President Vincente Fox said Pena Nieto should not have invited Trump (nor Sec. Clinton) as they are just candidates, not officials of US government.

Calling out a lie is somehow out of bounds for today's corporate media.

If it's Trump, the media loves him so much they won't report the truth.

I'd love to see if the Clinton Rules and the ubiquitous double standards in reporting on Clinton & Trump are as prevalent with female reporters (leaving out Fox & Dowd, of course).

Republicans campaign winner is out of his element. It's wrong of the Republican Party to allow Trump to treat another countries Leader like this.

Trump is unfit. Every Republican running for Congress and Senate is responsible for his words, his stupidity.
