Obama rips Trump’s ‘outrageous behavior,’ warns that it is becoming normalized

Source: The Washington Post

By William Wan and David Nakamura September 8 at 6:06 AM

VIENTIANE, Laos — President Obama struck back at Donald Trump on Thursday, repeating that the Republican presidential nominee is not qualified for office and warning that his "unacceptable and outrageous" behavior is becoming normalized in the 2016 election cycle.

"I don't think the guy's qualified to be president of the United States and every time he speaks that opinion is confirmed," Obama said at a news conference in Laos after a three-day visit to this Southeast Asian nation. "There is this process that seems to take place over the course of the election season where somehow behavior that in normal times we consider completely unacceptable and outrageous becomes normalized and people think we ought to be grading on a curve."

Obama was responding to a reporter's question about Trump's criticism of the president during a televised forum on Wednesday in which the GOP standard-bearer said Russian President Vladimir Putin was a stronger leader than Obama. Trump also said Obama's leadership had demoralized U.S. military generals.

Obama, who has sharply criticized Trump several times in previous public remarks, appeared exasperated in having to respond again. He said that "the most important thing for the public and the press is to just listen to what he says and follow up and ask questions about what appear to be contradictory or uninformed or outright wacky ideas." Despite voicing concern that Trump's behavior was not being scrutinized closely enough by the press, the president emphasized that he believes the American public will examine his track record "and make a good decision."

He speaks like a six year old. To me, he comes across as a blustering bully. It's horrifying that there is a large contingent of US citizens who will vote for him.

The television media continues to fail and fail, over and over, and HAVE normalized aberrant, abhorrent, and asinine behavior.

I.e., "style" over "substance". And this is because the "news" departments are no longer reporting "news". They have been merged with the "entertainment" departments to "present 'news' in an 'entertaining way'". And so brownie points (and ratings points) increase as bombastic and ludicrous mumbo jumbo is encouraged. It's a winning formula for them.

Maybe it's time to take the incentive (boycotting companies who make ad buys) out of their continuing to do this.

It's part-and-parcel of the whole Republican main stream doctrine and it has been for years now.

It permeates the air waves, social interaction, and the comments section of every major information outlet.

It bothered me that with Hillary's e-mails brought up in a hostile fashion almost right away, but Trump's latest crime of bribery in the Florida AG's campaign not even mentioned? I would like to see who else banked some money from the fraudster, Trump.

intelligent people can read Trump like a book and they don't fall for the hype and bullshit. I compare the Trump lovers that I know and they are all redneck, gun loving, Muslim hating, God fearing, Fox news, drunk, less educated, more indoctrinated to the t bagger ways. They are much the same mentality in the respect that they don't want to know any more than they already do, about anything. They believe that everything they know is the gospel truth. So they are more stupid than ignorant.

Sounds like a winning plan to me!

it is the presses duty to pursue the obvious disparity of qualifications between these two candidates.

"Grading on a curve" makes Trump seem to be equal to Hillary, when he is clearly ignorant, dishonest and dangerous.

12. CNN & NBC Love Trump
Thu Sep 8, 2016, 01:31 PM
Sep 2016

Trump made half a dozen statements last night at the Commander-in-Chief Forum, which in all honesty, should have disqualified him from the Presidency. Such as:

# Trump trashed the US military
# Trump made a mockery of our Military Generals
# Trump lied about his position on Iraq ... again
# Trump lied about the CIA briefing
# Trump professed his love for Putin ... again
# Trump blamed military sexual assaults on the victims

These are just a few of Trump's "WACKY" statements from last night in less than 30 minutes while fielding softball questions from Matt Lauer who was probably interviewing for show on the future Trump TV Network.

And today, all CNN is doing is talking about Hillary's statements about the emails and her statement that she will not want to place ground troops in a war against ISIS preferring instead to use other military means to defeat them once and for all.
Shame on CNN.They're trying to emulate Fox News while pretending to be impartial. America is not stupid and can see what is going on. No wonder CNN viewership is on the decline and their hosts are made a mockery on all the comedy channels.

And NBC is silent on Matt Lauer's XXX rated cozying up to Trump at the Forum !!

14. I think this is evidence of the right's non-stop warfare against MSM and "liberal media"....

My understanding is any outlets who dare to tell the plain truth, even without any editorializing, are subjected to tsunamis of calls, letters and emails complaining about their liberal bias. I think the MSM/corporate media has totally caved to this.
