Donald Trump Wants Peter Thiel On The Supreme Court, Sources Say

Source: Huffington Post

Donald Trump has made it clear he will nominate Peter Thiel to the Supreme Court if he wins the presidency, Thiel has told friends, according to a source close to the PayPal co-founder.

Trump “deeply loves Peter Thiel,” and people in the real estate mogul’s inner circle are talking about Thiel as a Supreme Court nominee, a separate source close to Trump told The Huffington Post. That source, who has not spoken to Trump directly about Thiel being nominated to the Court, cautioned that Trump’s offers often fail to materialize in real life.

It’s not clear whether Trump has indeed offered to nominate Thiel ― only that Thiel has said Trump would nominate him and that Trump’s team has discussed Thiel as a possible nominee. Both sources requested anonymity, given that Trump and Thiel have each demonstrated a willingness to seek revenge against parties they feel have wronged them. In Thiel’s case, he secretly financed lawsuits against Gawker.com with the intention of destroying the publication. He succeeded, and his role in the assault was only revealed in the final stages.

God forbid if Trump is elected, I think the interaction between his White House and Senate Republicans (especially the very conservative "Never Trump" crowd) would be a comedy/horror show of epic proportions.

This guy?!

The secretive tech billionaire who recently admitted to funding a lawsuit meant to crush the media company Gawker is known for having some radical opinions. But in an essay published in 2009, he surprised many when he wrote that giving women the right to vote — by constitutional amendment in 1920 — was a blow to democracy.

Here’s Thiel, writing on Cato Unbound, a blog affiliated with the libertarian think tank:

Since 1920, the vast increase in welfare beneficiaries and the extension of the franchise to women — two constituencies that are notoriously tough for libertarians — have rendered the notion of “capitalist democracy” into an oxymoron.

appointee to the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. How appropriate that Trump--totally unqualified to be POTUS--would consider nominating someone for SCOTUS that would also be unqualified?

Many of the less insane GOP types were supporting trump because they were comfortable with a list of potential SCOTUS justices approved by Jim DeMint and the Heritage Foundation. https://thinkprogress.org/trump-says-he-will-delegate-supreme-court-appointments-to-the-heritage-foundation-f0a51790683c#.i783iabhg The judges on that list were mainly idiots but many conservatives like this list and were willing to vote for trump due to this list. Now Trump has abandoned the Jim DeMint/Heritage Foundation approved list and will appoint rich people with no qualifications to the SCOTUS

I can't imagine a non-term-limited senator (from either party) voting to confirm Thiel. This is just more stage blather.
