Trump: Flint Pastor Who Interrupted My Remarks On Clinton Was Playing ‘Games’
Source: Talking Points Memo
Donald Trump suggested that the pastor who interrupted his Wednesday speech at a Flint, Michigan church did so intentionally to cast him in a poor light, saying something was up.
When she got up to introduce me, she was so nervous, she was shaking, Trump said of Rev. Faith Green Timmons during a Thursday morning phone interview on Fox and Friends. And I said, Wow, this is sort of strange. And then she came up. So she had that in mind. No question about it.
Timmons cut in during Trumps address, which mostly focused on the economy and the Flint water crisis, once he started speaking dismissively about Hillary Clinton.
"Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we've done for Flint, not give a political speech," she said. "Okay. That's good. And I'm going to go back onto Flint," Trump answered.

(34,327 posts)"Let him speak!" I'm sure that attacking a woman pastor will do wonders for his numbers in the African American community. I can see them soaring to .00002%.
What a vile POS.

(36,437 posts)That's what responsible adults do with people who are behaving badly.
The media should take a lesson from the pastor.
They had agreed it would not be a political event and Trump violated that agreement, abusing this woman, the space, and the audience. She quite reasonably and politely asked him to stop. He sputtered and stuttered like a spoiled brat who has never been told to stop acting a fool.

Again and again we see Donald Trump, when he is criticized, accuse his accusers of character flaws.

(52,113 posts)of course, her nervousness couldn't possibly have anything to do with more media attention then she'll ever know in her entire lifetime, or having to interact with a major party presidential candidate, never mind one as controversial as trump.
no, she said something that trump didn't like, so her nervousness had to mean she was a mean person lying in wait to attack trump.

(44,985 posts)You don't go into a church and start lying and preaching hate to its congregation.
At least, you're not supposed to. Certainly doesn't seem very Christian.
Of course she shut him up - Trump was dishonoring... well, everybody.
She really should have grabbed Trump by the toupee and tossed him out the hell out.

(22,911 posts)Doesn't matter what agreement he made in advance not to give a political speech, Trump is Trump and Trump does what he wants. I would not feel calm about the prospect of having to cut short his "remarks" in front of cameras but she damn well knew there was a good chance that Trump would make her do it. She, obviously, was right to anticipate what happened.

(15,696 posts)Instead of admitting that he crossed the line, he claims the pastor must've planned to sabotage him. And, even with an NPR reporter/witness in attendance, Trump lies about audience enthusiasm for him to continue his attack on Clinton.
He plays his victim card every freaking time. We know she wasn't out to sabotage him; yet, he "read her body language" and just knew it was true.

(15,220 posts)Why the heck didn't he confront her when the cameras were rolling? He's such a tough guy, after all. Gonna force Mexico to pay for the wall, gonna blow up Isis, yada, yada, yada. Yet, he defers to a pastor while in the church only to lambast her after the fact.
He's such a chicken shit. I mean, there is video of this that will prove what happened, and Trump still tells lies the next day. How on earth can anyone believe anything that comes out of his mouth?

Pastor Faith responds to Trump
The United Methodist Church has open hearts, open doors and open minds. Mr. Trump's campaign claimed he was swinging by and stepping through only to greet the volunteers and thank them with no political rhetoric of any kind, she wrote in a brief statement on her churchs Facebook page. That was stated. When it went further than that I did exactly what we agreed I would do.
Had he stuck to what his camp claimed he came to do, we would not have had a problem! - Good night, she posted on her personal page.
