Ex-Gov. Rowland Reports To Prison

Former Gov. John G. Rowland was scheduled to report to prison again Monday and almost managed to do so without anyone noticing.
The three-term former Republican governor had until the close of business Monday to turn himself in at the federal prison complex at Otisville, N.Y., according to a variety of sources.
Rowland was to begin a two and one-half year sentence for his most recent corruption convictions. A decade ago, he served about 10 months in prison for taking bribes.
In the most recent case, a jury in federal court found him guilty of participating in a conspiracy to violate federal campaign finance reporting laws by, among other things, concocting sham consulting contracts to conceal his role as a paid employee of congressional campaigns by Mark Greenberg and Lisa Wilson-Foley.

It's about time - he's been appealing this for over two years.
This is his second conviction and second prison sentence. This prison stay won't be as "cushy" as the previous one.
