Ivanka Trumps meeting with Al Gore highlights the questionable role she'll play in Washington

Source: Washington Post

Then, on Monday, the Trump transition's communications team had an unexpected update for reporters.

"One of the first meetings that's coming up here shortly," Jason Miller said on a conference call, "Ivanka Trump will be meeting with Al Gore at Trump Tower to discuss climate issues." (Gore wasn't expected to meet with the president-elect, but subsequent reports indicate that he did after his meeting with Ivanka.)

Last week, Politico reported that the president-elect's oldest daughter wanted to act as something of a "climate czar" for his administration, championing climate issues as the first daughter of the United States. The Times suggested that Ivanka Trump might end up being "the most powerful first daughter in history," which is a lower bar than it might seem at first. (The competition is limited.) But the broader point is the same: Trump may see herself as a "strong inside force" within the Trump administration, as former Hillary Clinton aide Anne-Marie Slaughter put it to the Times.

The problem, of course, is that Ivanka Trump is supposed to be running the family business, acting as an outside control ensuring that there's at least something of a firewall between the actions of the president-elect and the effects on his pocketbook.

1. Trump is dependent on her.

There is something wrong with him and he needs her to hold his hand.

My theory is the onset of dementia. It could be that his family is in denial and just thinks "that's the way he is."

2. There's something odd about it

They set up the 'children as a firewall' fig-leaf to get ahead off the ethics issue, then promptly undermine it by having Ivanka on constant display in the thick of the politics - and now she's moving to DC.

3. She's probably the only one who can "handle" him.

Disturbing man, with a disturbing relationship with all his kids.

5. Unless Trump

legally severs all ties with business and his families involvement with the government he should not be allowed to take office.

The is now talking about the results of of their malfeasance during the election. They are of course not mentioning the attempted coup by the Trump family. The lies the media have allowed to be told over and over and over again are now coming to fruition, idiot gunman has now taking up the clarion of call for violence. What exactly is the M$M going to do about this. What is Cheeto-lini going to do? Does this psychopath think this is a game?

Ivan and her husband and kid are going to move to DC so she can play first lady, not only may she not be a part of his government this cute little maneuver will cost us a million more, minimum, for Secret Service. This guy can not be allowed to take office.

6. I can't stand her. Just as bad as her father.

She either thinks we are all stupid or just doesn't care. She's going to be using the government to make the Trump Organization as much money as possible. People say her father is just stupid but what the hell is her excuse? To me she seems just as evil as her father.

President-elect Donald J. Trump and his daughter Ivanka met with former Vice President Al Gore on Monday to discuss human-caused climate change. And a fake-news believer finds the truth at a pizza parlor.

A meeting on climate change.

Al Gore thought he would be bending the ear of the adviser Mr. Trump trusts most, his daughter Ivanka.

Instead, the man bearing “The Inconvenient Truth” went straight to the source: the president-elect himself.

“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect,” Mr. Gore, the former vice president, told reporters at Trump Tower. “It was a sincere search for areas of common ground. I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued.”

Hundreds of scientists are also telling Mr. Trump in a new letter that climate change is real and needs to be addressed:
