Romney Says He Knew He'd Be Booed at NAACP

Source: ABC

Mitt Romney said after being booed at the NAACP today that he "expected" the strong objection in response to his pledge to repeal President Obama's health care law.

The black audience members rained boos on Romney three times during his speech -- first when he said he'd repeal the health law, once when he said Obama's record proves he hasn't done enough on the economy and other matters, and once when he told them that he would be a president who makes the lives of African-Americans better.

In a friendly-territory interview on Fox Business Network, Romney told the Republican-fond host Neil Cavuto, "I think we expected that, of course."

Romney knew that he would be poorly received and he still went for it anyway. That's just about the boldest thing you could imagine-telling bald faced lies to the people who know he knows he's lying to. He'll stoop to any low.

There are a lot of far, far right racist conservatives who are disenchanted with Mittens as a moderate.

At first, he smiles and was about to be like "I know, right?" then he realizes that they are not clapping or whooping, but BOOing! Then he looks totally lost. Look at his face at first, he was totally thinking that he hit a home run with them.

Is he truly as stupid as he looks? I'd never heard him speak before, and he reminded me so much of Bush Lite.

As others have pointed out, he got on the news with the red meat that his base wants to hear and he even earned bonus points (with them) for pissing off some of the people his base really hate.

I'm pretty good at reading micro expressions, and immediately when they starting booing, he at first seemed to think that they might have clapped or were hooting at what he said, because he had a micro moment when he started to smile and agree with what they were doing.. like "I know, RIGHT?" then he realizes that it was booing. He stops smiling, pulls back.. and stands there.. then smiles again a weird awkward smile, then you can see he starts thinking of a response.

If he had known this was coming, his response would have actually been useful.. not "you know I read a survey from US Chamber of Commerce," which intelligent people know has been in bed with Karl Rove and the Koch Brothers all this time.

No, I really don't think that he expected that.

He went to the NAACP convention, said some unexpectedly gracious things about Obama and then talked about issues that he felt connected with his audience. He received applause on several occasions and was never booed to my knowledge. He acknowledged that he probably wouldn't get the support of most of those in the audience but he didn't talk down to them or treat them as a prop either.

He KNEW going in that he was not gonna ring true with his audience? Really? Why do you think that might be? Are you planning to go to a meeting of the Latino community and work to offend them too, Mitt? You KNOW you are gonna be derided there too?

Arrogant racist fuckwad.

The people you heard cheering for Mitt Romney at the NAACP meeting Wednesday were not all NAACP members, according to several sources who say Romney bussed in an estimated 200 supporters to the gathering. CNN analyst Roland Martin who was present at the NAACP gathering tweeted he saw an estimated 200 people get off Romney busses including Fla. Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll.

campaign is trying to do.

They want every one of their voters to believe that they're 1%-ers. Whether they are or not.

The truth is, those boos were very polite. VERY polite. His people were hoping for an outright riot. But instead, he demonstrated how civil the "blacks" really are, when you lie to them with a bald face.
