Trump not expected to slow down on Twitter any time soon, press secretary says

Source: Bloomberg

Sun., Jan. 1, 2017

President-elect Donald Trump won’t end the onslaught of posts on Twitter that fed his unconventional campaign, even after taking on the formalized duties of the Oval Office later this month.

Making news and issuing statements on social media sites that also include Facebook and Instagram will “absolutely” continue, despite earlier promises by Trump to cut back, incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Sunday on ABC’s This Week.

“You know what? The fact of the matter is that when he tweets, he gets results,” Spicer said.

In recent tweets alone, Trump has hinted he’d like to change decades of policy on nuclear weapons; praised Russian leader Vladimir Putin even after accusations by intelligence agencies that Russia attempted to tamper with U.S. elections; and said the United Nations is a “club for people to get together, talk and have a good time.”

He tweets something hateful and/or ignorant and he gets an immediate response. People talk for days about every tweet he makes. There's no way he's going to give that up.

...

Narcissistic supply is a concept introduced into psychoanalytic theory by Otto Fenichel in 1938, to describe a type of admiration, interpersonal support or sustenance drawn by an individual from his or her environment and essential to their self-esteem.[1]

The term is typically used in a negative sense, describing a pathological or excessive need for attention or admiration from codependents, or such a need in the orally fixated, that does not take into account the feelings, opinions or preferences of other people.

Every time he tweets he just shows the public what an insane, moronic fool he is. But he doesn't care. He just wants the attention, whether positive or negative.

his way of showing us how uneducated he is. this man/child has some deep mental issues. spicer is normalizing this crap dumbing down the office of the president. keeping the people uninformed and putting the country in jeopardy. the press is not doing its job either.

it does have a tremendous impact on younger generations who 'live' a in surreal world of social media. Personally I don't tweet, nor have I ever tweeted. I find it inane.

After all if we have to suffer with him as President its only fair that those gullible enough to vote for him suffer in shame over voting for a person who has worse impulse control than a 4 year old.

Already, there are people posting their "Trumpgrets" on Twitter and a lot of them are complaining that he won't shut up.

I think the overexposure can only hurt him. He is a celebrity first, after all, and the public tends to turn against over-exposed celebrities and attention whores.

why some of his supporters are now starting to regret their votes and I have zero sympathy for them because its been clear he had issues all through this race and yet they still voted for him so they deserve to feel guilty over their votes.
Of course alot of them wont feel any shame (such as 99.999999999% of the Republicans in the House and Senate) but then sociopaths rarely do.

people who he considers "enemies," nor stop making stupid belligerent comments about other countries and their leaders, nor will he start acting anything remotely resembling "presidential."

Not surprised by anything DT does anymore. I AM surprised however at so many people still thinking he's gonna be anything but what he has been the last two years. "Give him a chance" - for WHAT??? What's gonna be any different????
