NYC Mayor Counting on Two gop Congressmen To Get Feds to Pay For Trump's NYPD Detail

Source: New York Observer

Mayor Bill de Blasio proclaimed tonight that New York City’s lone Republican congressman and President-elect Donald Trump’s congressional liaison are crucial to his ongoing uphill battle to get reimbursed for the extra protections around Trump Tower since Election Day.

Last month, the House passed a year-end continuing resolution that indemnified the city just $7 million—a fifth of its requested $35 million—in costs associated with safeguarding the residence and transition headquarters on Fifth Avenue. De Blasio said Trump-backing Staten Island Republican Congressman Daniel Donovan and Western New York GOP Congressman Chris Collins, the House liaison for Trump’s transition team, have proved key to the city’s effort to get a full refund.

The mayor said that beyond Donovan and Collins, he’s ready to work with anyone who is willing to help the city achieve its goal.

I can see they need to guard the Prezlect, but I don't know if any PE has ever lived in a skyscraper before.

It kind of bites that TT is advertising SS level security as a feature for potential tenants.

Also...didn't DT proclaim he wasn't going to move into the White House without extensive upgrades? (Guess they gotta gold-plate all the walls and rename it TRUMP HOUSE EAST, DC with some big ol' letters on the front. )

why the taxpayers (including New York cities) should be forced to provide extra security at an alternate site because he doesnt want to stay there so the extra protection should be withdrawn and the same goes for he Secret Service if he wants them at an alternate site for the long term then he needs to foot the bill out of his own pocket.

suggested that Hillary's secret service contingent give up their guns? New York should just PULL ALL THEIR SECURITY means out, post-haste. And then sue for recompense to cover the outstanding costs.

Forget going after the Feds to pay for the cost of protecting Trump in NYC. Just make Trump pay the costs. He is worth $10 billion. $35 million is pocket change to him.

and refuse to pay on the grounds that they're not satisfied with the transition. If Trump wants the money, he can sue them.
