US plans to spend $348 billion during 201524 on maintaining and comprehensively updating its nuclear forces. Some estimates suggest that the USAs nuclear weapon modernization programme may cost up to $1 trillion over the next 30 years.

at the same time, scholars agree in the trajectory of the russian military: Downsizing, degeneration and defeat.

So this might seem like an interesting development. We all want a reduction in the nuclear stockpile right ?
But, US and Russia are investing huge sums in modernizing their weapons, reducing the numbers of missiles needed to have a mutual assured destruction capability.
So Trump tactis will

1: Not make the world a safer place
2: Giving the Russian economy a boost.
3: be a testament for Russia to keep invading countries at no cost
4: Will increase Russian military spending.
5: Give Russia and other hostile nations a OK to hack us elections and democratic institutions.

...Tweetinfuhrer, this isn't a fucking business deal, you fucking ignoramus!!!

Putin is rewarded for stealing Crimea and stealth invading eastern Ukraine, not to mention hacking a US election cycle. And what does it cost him? A few obsolete nuclear weapons systems? Wonder what he'd get for invading the Baltics? Our trust level with our NATO allies goes to zero. Good job, you fucking asshole!!! The guy is freaking Neville Chamberlain with a pee fetish

No wonder he went bankrupt 6 times. Geezzz!

This guy was talking about rebuilding our nuclear arsenal.

What can get Donald Trump to change his mind? Thinking it could become useful to getting closer ties to Putin.

11. This is a Putin-Trump black ops plan. Give the Republicans some phony reason to lift the sanctions

so that Putin and Tillerson can restart their oil venture. So obvious and sloppily contrived.

To set the stage for a deal to lift the sanctions.

The whole thing was odd; out of the blue Putin makes a nuclear threat and then Trump responds with "the arms race is on," rattling nerves around the world. It was odd because the two are clearly allied, before and since.

So now Trump can 'solve' the problem with negotiations with Russia, giving him an excuse to lift the sanctions. He likely expects praise for saving the country from possible nuclear attack.

Maybe this sounded clever when Putin told Trump to do it, but Trump is too erratic and the suspicion of him is to great for him to pull this off.

12. Bloomberg - Trump Says U.S. Nuclear Arsenal Must Be Greatly Expanded

Um, didn't both Trump and Putin just promise to greatly expand their nuclear arsenals about a week ago?

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-12-22/trump-says-u-s-nuclear-arsenal-must-be-greatly-expanded

President-elect Donald Trump said Thursday the U.S. should increase its nuclear arsenal, an apparent reversal of a decades-long reduction of the nation’s atomic weaponry that came hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated calls for his country’s arsenal to be reinforced.

“The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes,” Trump said in a Twitter post.

Putin downplayed the promised U.S. nuclear build-up at his annual press conference in Moscow on Friday, saying it was “no novelty” as it was in line with Trump’s campaign promises. On Thursday, Putin said Russia should also “enhance the combat capability of strategic nuclear forces, primarily by strengthening missile complexes that will be guaranteed to penetrate existing and future missile defense systems.”

President Barack Obama has both reduced the U.S. nuclear arsenal, in an agreement early in his presidency with Russia, and sought to modernize it to replace thousands of bombs and missiles. His modernization plan -- which the Arms Control Association said would cost as much as $1 trillion over 30 years -- has come under criticism from proponents of denuclearization, who warn it may prompt a new arms race with Russia and China.

Remove sanctions, Russia buys tons of drumpf dross and he and putin prosper while world goes to hell. Yep, I'm sure from their pov, this is a good thing. Of course, we will both disregard the limits and put billions into nuclear since drumpf is a partner with a group that builds nuclear plants. Everything is a lie, every single thing out of his mouth is a lie, that's what we need to remember always.
