Hideous Trump a disgrace for European protesters

Terrifying, hideous, racist, atrocious and a disgrace to humanity: Protesters around Europe pulled no punches in reacting to Donald Trumps inauguration as US president on Friday.
Around 500 activists gathered at the US embassy in London where placards urged Americans to Dump Trump, whom they accused of being a climate disaster.
Artist James Marriott, a supporter of opposition Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn, held a poster calling Trump a disgrace to humanity.
Trump is part of a substantial shift moving into something much more turbulent and frightening, Marriott told AFP.

(9,109 posts)we here in the US who campaigned and donated to Democratic candidates did more to fight Trump than most of these Euro-protesters did.

(50,254 posts)It makes it sound as if Trump is somehow a disgrace TO the protesters(as opposed to the protesters finding him to be a disgrace).

(2,037 posts)I've noticed this with accented letters (François will show up as Franois) and with some quotation marks and other punctuation if copy-pasted directly from the link. I hope Skinner and Earl G can fix that sometime soon.

(2,037 posts)Most foreigners I've met always remark on the incredible duality of America. The best artists, the best scientists, such positive, pragmatic, can-do people - and yet hijacked by such craven thugs sometimes.
Money in politics, I tell them. That's our Achilles heel.
