Trumps inaugural cake was commissioned to look exactly like Obamas, baker says

Source: Washington Post

Amid the glitz of President Trump’s inaugural festivities, one item stood out in particular late Friday night: a spectacular nine-tier cake that the new president and Vice President Pence cut into with a sword.

To pastry chef Duff Goldman, the cake seemed a little too familiar — because it looked almost exactly like one he had made years earlier for Barack Obama’s second inauguration as president.

Just after midnight, the Food Network personality posted a side-by-side comparison of two cakes on his Twitter account.

On the left, Goldman wrote in the caption, was the cake he had created for the “Commander-in-Chief” inaugural ball in 2013. The one on the right was the cake that had just appeared at Trump’s “Salute Our Armed Services” ball.

Trump had someone go to another bakery with a photo of Obama's cake and asked them to recreate it 'exactly'. He's not even low-class, he is a no-class plagurist, just like his wife and the others he surrounds himself with.

They are probably sitting around gloating about the media taking every piece of bait that gets thrown to them. The media then can't spend much time on each "controversy" because a new one pops up daily. They probably have stuff developed and held in reserve, ready for release as needed.

Quote from the article and the owner of the business that created it:

All but a three-inch slice at the bottom was inedible.

“It’s just a Styrofoam cake. It’s not for eating,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting it to be seen on TV.”

Assuming it was a planner who chose the cake, it would be pretty funny. Obviously someone would recognize it. I can't imagine Trump would knowingly choose Obama's cake. His choice would have much more gold.

The fact that it's a fake cake is pretty appropriate. Obama is the real deal. Trump is a fancy prop.

Either that, or he's taking things they did and re-doing them the "Trump" way to take attention away from the Obamas and put it on themselves. It's almost like the message he's sending is, "We can do it better". So just take everything that belonged to the Obamas and assume credit for it.

That's why Melania plagiarized Michelle's speech, why they stole their photos and why they had the exact same cake made. To me it seems like a cruel intention to re-write the last 8 years because they know half the country will believe it, no matter how easily it can be disproven. They've already started this campaign about the media lying and it's been hugely successful at turning people against their information sources.

It's horrifying.
