An official estimate from D.C. Metro authority shows that the transit system had its second-busiest day ever on Saturday as crowds from the Women's March streamed into Washington, surpassed only by ridership on the day of President Barack Obamas 2009 inauguration.
The number of entries into the Metro on Saturday was second only to the number of entries on Jan. 20, 2009, according to a statement by Metro General Manager Paul J. Wiedefeld cited in a Washington Post report.
On Friday, during President Donald Trump's inauguration, the Metro reported 570,557 entries per the Washington Post. This figure indicates not only a lower ridership than the Metro reported on Saturday but a lower ridership than it reported for either of Obama's inaugurations.

(26,276 posts)was down and also that President Trump was giving out pink and purple stripped unicorns filled with candy to orphans in Syria and that he is now adored everywhere in the world because he has solved world peace by bathing the world in the light from the rainbows that shoot out his ass, right Kelly?

(45,409 posts)Neither number is correct, according to the transit system, which reported 570,557 entries into the rail system on Friday, compared with 782,000 on Inauguration Day in 2013.

The comparison is hilarious and sad and scary. It's like they want to media to be tied up correcting their lies instead of investigating their crimes or asking difficult questions.

(11,517 posts)That's what I keep hearing from right wing family members. If the facts don't suit them the right wing just makes shit up to satisfy their fantasies.

"Let's assume what you say is true, and the turnout of his inauguration is the result of people having to work. Aren't you really suggesting just how GREAT Obama was for this economy if so much of the ones who supported trump are too busy working to attend his inauguration? Seems to me you royally supported the wrong person if the job situation is so great that nobody who supported Trump can afford the time away from work to go see him get sworn in."
