Romney demands Obama cease Bain attacks
Source: CSM
Mitt Romney demanded Monday that President Barack Obama back away from his persistent attacks on Romney's record at Bain Capital, advising that it would be better "if you spent some time speaking about your record."
"What does it say about a president whose record is so poor that all he can do in this campaign is attack me,"Romney said in a nationally broadcast interview.
Obama said an interview that he has run mostly positive campaign ads but said they have not been given much attention in the media.
In his interview on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends," Romney was asked whether Obama should apologize for a series of statements and campaign commercials suggesting that Romney has not been truthful in his accounts of his record as head of Bain Capital, a private equity firm.

(10,132 posts)Has Romney ever come out with a policy statement other than "It's our turn"?
Given what I know about his background, I really think this is one of the very few times that people are standing up to him and telling him he does not automatically get what he wants right now. Growing up with Gov. Daddy to smooth the way, getting the cushy mission in Paris because of pull in the Mormon establishment, the no-risk-to-him job at Bain - I see a person who's never had to fight his way into something, who always had friends backing him. Now he's up on a very visible stage and his business and church buddies, try though they may, can't do all that much to help him.
ETA: he's always operated within a fairly rigid hierarchy, and he's been lucky to be in the higher rungs of those hierarchies. Having people talk back to him must be a novelty.

(19 posts)Just wondering: is it better for the Dems that Romney release his taxes now, or have Romney continue to delay so the liberal and conservative protests rise higher and higher? In other words: follow George Will's advice and release them immediately or stir the shit storm?

(28,787 posts)every time i hear snips of rmoney on NPR he's talking about what a failure the president is, without ever offering a concrete plan to improve upon obama's record. because all he's got is bushism and we all know how successful that was.
sounds like he's whining, which is so fucking typical for republicans. they can dish it out like nobody else in the world but they sure as hell can't take it. gawd DAMN i hate them.
