Trump to hang photo of inauguration crowd in front of White House reporters
Source: Politico
A panoramic photo of Donald Trumps inauguration crowd will hang in the West Wing, the president announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter, where reporters skeptical of his unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout will see it every day.
Trump made no reference to the clash between his administration and the press corps over the weekend regarding the attendance at his inauguration, only writing that the photo was delivered yesterday and that it will be displayed in the upper/lower press hall. The upper press and lower press are specific areas in the West Wing where administration press and communications officials work and to which reporters have access.
The upper and lower press areas were also decorated with photos during President Barack Obamas administration. Those photos were rotated somewhat regularly to reflect the presidents recent activities and in the administrations final weeks included highlights of his eight years in office.

Do you get the feeling that Trump's mother paid neighborhood kids to come to his birthday parties?

(20,135 posts)It's taken at a downward angle with the most densely crowded section (the front, where all the VIPs were) filling most of the frame.
This isn't fooling anyone. We have the aerial photo that shows the ENTIRE mall, where you can see quite clearly how spare the crowd really is. Trump's inauguration had a bunch of VIPs packed in at the front, and then barely anyone past that. Obama's inauguration had a huge crowd across the entire mall.

(5,810 posts)I have to say these things to keep from crying. Four days into tRump's term and we already see how things are headed. I had a nightmare last night after reading before bedtime what had transpired in DC yesterday. Woke myself up saying, "I am afraid." Not sure what I am in store for tonight.....

(28,246 posts)It's time for everybody to grasp the fact that we've got a wildly unbalanced man in the White House, that he's manifestly unfit for duty, and that he needs to be removed from office at the earliest feasible time. And yes, Mike Pence would be better.

Difference being, Pence is like a copperhead--poisonous but the venom is slow moving.
Trump's like a black mamba. That sucker's bite will kill you within an hour.
I don't want to be bitten by either, but if I had my choice, I'd rather the copperhead.

With all the other crap going on at least I'd be less worried Pence would use nukes.

But note that those seats in the 'panorama' image are the ones in the assigned(?) seats/places immediately in front of the Capitol. Those seats are usually filled in every inauguration. The huge crowds for PBO in 2009 were standing on the 1.1 mile stretch between the reflecting pool behind the assigned area and the Washington Monument.

(15,220 posts)I don't buy any of his shit, so I don't know anything about it. I know he does ties, but does he also do shirts, caps, etc.? If so, who is his biggest competitor?
Because the reporters all need to wear merchandise from THAT competitor when they go to these press areas.

(50,546 posts)I think the rough equivalent to Trump's line is either Jos. A. Bank or Brooks Brothers. The problem with business wear is, unless you're REALLY familiar with the very small details that set one brand apart from all others, that shit's pretty much indistinguishable.
However, given that, I'd recommend buying it at Macy's...and doing your damndest to make sure he knows that.
