Following President Trumps executive order green card, visa holders already blocked by airports

Source: New York Daily News

Within hours of President Trump’s executive order limiting immigration from Muslim countries, green card and visa holders were already being blocked from getting on flights to the U.S.

The Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee said people who had already landed were being sequestered at airports and told they have to return to their point of origin.
...
People who were still in the air as of 10:30 p.m. likely face being blocked at the airport when their planes land, he said.
...
"We had a few folks land who landed right around the time the order was issued, who were permitted to go through. I guess it was the luck of the draw.”

So if you are coming from these countries, you are on the no fly list? How about flying to Canada and walking through the border crossing?

and turning back if they said 'yes', I doubt that would help. I don't think the Canadian border is held to a lower standard these days.

At least try. If America does not want somebody, it is America's loss. I am sure that Google is planning to move a lot of their employees out of California at this minute. They can buy a campus anywhere in the world that they want to.

A man who makes profit based on his global reach, is closing our borders down.

This isn't going to make America great. It's going to take us out of contention for growth.

Directed at all lawmakers, demanding impeachment. Instead of taking the protests to the streets take them to the doorsteps of lawmakers. Protest their offices, their homes, anywhere they go. Do it every day, all day...follow them everywhere. Spam their email, spam their phone lines...don't leave them alone until they get rid of the orange asshole.

Refugees Detained at U.S. Airports, Prompting Legal Challenges to Trump’s Immigration Order

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/28/us/refugees-detained-at-us-airports-prompting-legal-challenges-to-trumps-immigration-order.html?smprod=nytcore-ipad&smid=nytcore-ipad-share&_r=0

President Trump’s executive order closing the nation’s borders to refugees was put into immediate effect Friday night. Refugees who were in the air on the way to the United States when the order was signed were stopped and detained at airports.

The detentions prompted legal challenges as lawyers representing two Iraqi refugees held at Kennedy Airport filed a writ of habeas corpus early Saturday in the Eastern District of New York seeking to have their clients released. At the same time, they filed a motion for class certification, in an effort to represent all refugees and immigrants who they said were being unlawfully detained at ports of entry.

Mr. Trump’s order, which suspends entry of all refugees to the United States for 120 days, created a legal limbo for individuals on the way to the United States and panic for families who were awaiting their arrival.

Mr. Trump’s order also stops the admission of refugees from Syria indefinitely, and it bars entry into the United States for 90 days from seven predominantly Muslim countries linked to concerns about terrorism. Those countries are Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

This can't possibly be legal. An executive order can't just nullify a green card, a green card has force of law.
My wife is a green card holder. Fuck this shit and sideways.

Mr. Trump appears to want to reinstate a new type of Asiatic Barred Zone by executive order, but there is just one problem: The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 banned all discrimination against immigrants on the basis of national origin, replacing the old prejudicial system and giving each country an equal shot at the quotas. In signing the new law, President Lyndon B. Johnson said that “the harsh injustice” of the national-origins quota system had been “abolished.”

Not the Trump and the GOP care about those pesky "laws".

This will almost certainly be struck down -- but it's anyone's guess how long that will take.

Taking refugees somewhere safe like Canada or Mexico, because America is no longer safe for even the refugees that are already here. Read the tea leaves.

Once Canada and Mexico give Americans refugee status, they can move further. Before WW2, the Jews knew the deal before 1932, there was a decade to get out.

A state department spokesman confirmed that travellers from the named countries who have dual nationality will not be able to enter the US for 90 days.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/28/airports-us-immigration-ban-muslim-countries-trump

So, for instance, Iman, if Wikipedia is correct that she's a dual Somali and American citizen: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iman_%28model%29

If the countries allowed it, all kinds of people may have held dual citizenship from the USA and one of these countries, possibly for decades. And it presumably also applies to people with dual citizenship from an 'acceptable' country and one of Trump's "pariahs", like Zeinab Badawi, a prominent British journalist (Wikipedia lists her nationality just as 'Sudanese', though she's worked in British TV for over 30 years).
