Trumps Border Patrol Defies Judge, U.S. Senator at Dulles Airport as His First Constitutional Crisi

Source: The Daily Beast

As the night wore on, it became increasingly clear that CBP was defying Brinkema’s ruling. Lawyers concluded that that meant someone was in contempt of court. The judge could theoretically send in federal law enforcement officers to force CBP to let the lawyers meet with the detainees. But sending in the U.S. Marshals—who are part of the Department of Justice—to take on Customs and Border Patrol—which is part of the Department of Homeland Security—would have been a bureaucratic clash of the titans. And, like everything else that night, it would have been unprecedented. It didn’t happen.

Though detainees were slowly being released, lawyers were disturbed that they couldn’t meet with them. What if CBP tried to coerce detainees into signing paperwork that could jeopardize their legal status? Release wasn’t enough. A federal agency was defying a federal judge, and no one was quite sure what to do.

Then at around 11:45 pm, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker showed up.

He had come to get the travelers out of detention, “or at least access to an attorney,” he told The Daily Beast.

2. Doesn't surprise me at all that it would be Dallas

I really would have expected Houston to be the story, but Dallas or Houston would be expected. Houston is the epicenter of fox propaganda network. There is even a "fox store" in the airport, where you can buy all the trash they promote, and more. The tvs are all tuned in to fox....and the border patrol are some of the most racist, insulting service I have ever come across....and even many of the general employees in the airport have a real attitude problem.

I hope this blows up in der Gropenfuhrer's face, and he is humiliated for his asinine actions. This country is going to take some real hits around the world, thanks to this piece of orange shit that has his hands on the country's steering wheel.

Never been to Dulles, but not terribly surprised about that either since repuKKKes now control the government branches, and intimidation has to be factored in to following der Gropenfuhrer's illegal orders.

Not sure that was the best note to strike, and certainly an interesting way to end the story. More politics as a football game?

Will they blindly follow Trump as Commander-in-Chief or will they decide that in order to uphold their oath to "...support and defend the Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic..." takes precedence when the Commander-in-Chief seeks to destroy the Constitution.

I am terrified. As should we all, since we are the "liberals" that will be in the crosshairs as soon as Trump/Bannon complete their autocoup.

I damn near lost it with one particular idiot at an airport. Luckily my gentle personality probably saved me from an arrest and a place on the no-fly-list, rofl.
