Donald Trump held Theresa Mays hand because hes scared of slopes and stairs
Source: Sun
Taken as they walked from the buildings state rooms to the West Wing, it seemed to sum up how deeply they had bonded after a historic first meeting on Friday afternoon in Washington DC.
But an alternative explanation emerged that the US president suffers from bathmophobia a fear of stairs or slopes.
Government sources in Washington DC said they had been told the New York property billionaire is uncomfortable with using either.
The 70-year-old president is thought to have grabbed Ms Mays hand to steady himself as the pair walked down a ramp in a colonnade, before then rubbing it in thanks.

(2,992 posts)- this isn't something we should joke about.
(In my case, it's agoraphobia. I really, really don't like crowds.)
There's a shit-ton of other things we can mock about Trump.

(27,802 posts)and bragged on his own health, I think it's relevant. I have phobias, too, including public speaking even if it's only a group of five people. I would not, however, seek out high office.

(22,651 posts)something else I noticed is in one of t(R)umps, (I have to find the recent picture) pictures last week. on his upper right arm, under the suit jacket there was a triangle shaped flat object with what looked like a line/tube? running towards his back.
has me curious if he has some medical issue and currently undergoes treatment for some issue. I have to use my imagination because he didn't disclose any medical history and he hates to appear weak.
addiction and that's a med pump? pain patch? or a shock device Republicans can trigger if he acts out weirdly? or contraband? wasn't a wrinkle in his suit.

(10,419 posts)He was happy enough to announce his campaign while descending godlike down his own escalator.
I'm close to Big Orange's age and I have to hesitate on steps and curbs - visual distortion and a tiny bit of general unsteadiness.
But I'm not the paragon of perfect health that Drumph is (per his Dear and Glorious Physician).

(5,914 posts)Maybe it's going down other people's stairs he's uncomfortable with. Maybe it's yet another control issue.

(5,754 posts)for two reasons: vision, as I have to look through the bottom of my glasses, the near part, when walking down, and a knee issue, as sometimes one of my knees is a little weak. I'm also plus sized, like the Donald.

(5,914 posts)Anyone with severe arthritis in their knees knows that it's excruciating to walk down stairs, but not as bad going up.
This might explain why he was able to descend his escalator at Trump Tower with no problem, but why he now can't similarly go down a flight of stairs.
He might be a candidate for a knee replacement surgery. But he won't go through that, because he doesn't want to be seen as weak, ever.

Trump has the perfect mentality for a Dalek...recall the episode where the Daleks had a prison ship to contain the Daleks that were too crazy even for the Daleks? That is sorta like the red states.

(17,302 posts)There seems to be plenty of visual evidence to the contrary (or if he is phobic he is managing to overcome it). Personally, I think he took May's hand because he has a compulsion to be in control around women. He's constantly telling them where to stand or how to pose or mauling them with his little paws. I think it's more a matter of his chauvinism.
