An executive order from President Donald Trump opening up discrimination against the LGBTQ community on the basis of religious belief is expected sometime this week, possibly as soon as today.
Several sources spoke with LGBTQ Nation on the condition of anonymity who have told us that the order will allow for discrimination in a number of areas, including employment, social services, business, and adoption.
From what weve heard, the executive order could be far-reaching, and could include: making taxpayer funds available for discrimination against LGBTQ people in social services; allow federally funded adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBTQ parents; eliminate non-discrimination protections in order to make it possible to fire federal employers and contractors based on their sexual orientation or gender identity; and allow federal employees to refuse to serve people based on the belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and that gender is an immutable characteristic set at birth, which would impact a broad range of federal benefits.
The order is expected to come in the packaging of so-called religious freedom, which argues that someones religious beliefs should be enough to prevent them from having to provide goods and services to members of the LGBTQ community if doing so would conflict with said beliefs.
Vice President Mike Pence gained widespread notoriety for his Religious Freedom Restoration Act, passed during his time as the governor of Indiana. He later backpedaled and signed an executive order removing language allowing for discrimination against the LGBTQ individuals...........................

Trump reportedly on verge of signing anti-LGBT executive order

...................
Sign the petition and tell Donald Trump in no uncertain terms that homophobia is un-American, and we will not stand for it.................
The new anti-LGBT executive order is expected to be wrapped in the fake language of religious liberty, a typical ploy the religious right and other homophobes use to bash LGBT people. Among the possible provisions in the new executive order:
Letting organizations use federal dollars to discriminate in the provision of social services;
Letting federally-funded adoption agencies discrimination against LGBT people; and
Permit federal employees to discriminate against LGBT people based on their opposition to marriage quality and gender identity.....................

the rest of us how to live our lives in order not to upset your believes.
the election was dirty, Trump cheated, this was a coup, Putin helped to rig the elections,
and Trump is being told what to do by a neo nazi and Vlad Putin.

This afternoon White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer dodged a direct question about a rumored anti-LGBT executive order. An hour after his press briefing concluded, Washington Post reporter Josh Rogin tweeted that a draft version of such an order does exist and targets adoption rights among other issues.
Trump supporters are responding to Rogin on Twitter, accusing him of needlessly spreading hysteria among other similar claims. The Log Cabin Republicans have yet to publicly react. At this writing the most recent tweet on their feed declares that The GOP is focused on being more inclusive.

We already have freedom of religion. Go sit in your church Pence and keep it out of politics.
You will not win this one, so don't even try.

(50,555 posts)...if I hung a sign on the door of my porn shop that said, "no Republicans or fundamentalist Christians beyond this point as my religion forbids serving them," that would be okay?
I would have to forego a LOT of business because Republicans and fundamentalist Christians are heavy porn consumers, but it's a sacrifice I'd have to make.
