Israeli president apologizes to Mexico over Netanyahu border wall tweet

Source: The Hill

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin apologized to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto Tuesday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted his apparent support for a wall on the Mexico-United States border.

"President Trump is right. I built a wall along Israel's southern border. It stopped all illegal immigration. Great success. Great idea," Netanyahu tweeted Saturday.

On a call with Peña Nieto Tuesday, Rivlin called the ensuing diplomatic rift a "misunderstanding," Spanish news agency EFE reported.

"We have no intention to compare Israel's security situation and the needs that emanate from it, and the situation faced by countries that are friends of Israel," Rivlin said.

1. Unfortunately, the President of Israel is little more that a figurehead.

IIRC, his one and only job is to sign the call for new elections when/if the prime minister informs him that the government ruling coalition has broken.

Nice of him to make the gesture but it's an meaningful as any one of us sending a note to mexico apologizing for electing Bannon and asshat.

...claims Mexico built a wall on the Guatemalan border, so why shouldn't the United States build one on the Mexican border. The picture of the wall they show is actually the Israeli West Bank barrier, guard towers and all.

Not that this matters, of course. Most of Trump's base would LOVE to imitate Israel's treatment of Palestinians and Arabs, and have already started doing so.

So, any comparisons between BEEBEE and BOZO are actually greatly appreciated.
