Trump Administration Removes LGBTQ Questions From Elderly Survey

Advocates are outraged that questions about LGBTQ seniors have suddenly been removed from an annual survey that determines services for elderly Americans.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) uses the National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants (NSOAAP) to decide how to allocate federal funding to groups that work with the elderly. For years, LGBTQ groups lobbied to have the survey include questions that would help identify the amount of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elderly people who live in the U.S. and participate in services.

"The Trump Administration is literally attempting to erase the LGBTQ community from the fabric of American history," GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement emailed to NBC News. "Our LGBTQ seniors, many of whom survived the HIV and AIDS epidemic, do not deserve to have the government once again brush them off from obtaining transportation services, caregiver support, and even delivered meals that fit their needs."

Please, just stop with that bigoted, homophobic meme! The people who pulled this are HOMOPHOBES. MOST homophobes are HETEROSEXUAL! Not every homophobic thing that is happen is done by some self-loathing 'mo. You have to realize that homosexuals are a MINORITY, we are not the MAJORITY, and the ones who enact these hateful laws/actions against us, are usually heterosexuals. Yes, there have been TWO...that's right TWO studies, of about 350 people, where a MINORITY of those people who are homophobes get aroused by homosexual imagery. This DOES NOT make them homosexuals! And, keep in mind, this makes them a MINORITY within a MINORTY, thus, an EXCEPTION, not the RULE!

History and memories have shown me that those politicians who have been caught have been ones who have been vocal in anti gay ... Everything. Minority within minority or not, I've watched it happen for over 30 years.

Btw, my most BELOVED grandson is 17 and gay, I am and have always been supportive and loving of my LGBTQ fellow humans. What these hipocrites are attempting to do to the RIGHTS that they deserve as members of the human race, needs to be called out.

It is quite another to consider speculation "fact". For every ONE of "politicians who have been caught have been ones who have been vocal in anti gay....EVERYTHING", I can provided 20 to 100 examples (and no, I am not being hyperbolic) of politicians who have engaged in homophobic acts and never did anything which would bring into question their sexual orientation.

It doesn't matter if "some of your best friends are gay", I am explaining to you, the "homophobes are really secret homos" meme is offensive as hell and homophobic, in of itself. If, notice that word, IF, the person(s) who are homophobic are then caught in homosexual acts, THEN call them out for hypocrisy, do not do it preemptively!

The problem with the "Secret X" meme is it allows the overwhelming majority of "Normal" people who do these atrocities to escape the stigma and blame for their words and deeds.
