GOP leaders pile on sweeteners to sell Obamacare repeal - Revisions are part of a last-ditch effort

House Republican leaders are poised to release Monday evening an expansive series of changes to their Obamacare repeal bill in a last-ditch attempt to win enough support to get the bill passed.

Requested by President Donald Trump, the amendment includes perks for restive conservatives who wanted optional work requirements and block granting in Medicaid, as well as a potential olive branch to wary centrists who demanded more help for older Americans to buy insurance, POLITICO has learned.

The amendment would establish a reserve fund of at least $75 billion for tax credits to help the core constituency that propelled Trump to the White House: Americans between 50 and 64, who would see their premiums skyrocket under the current repeal plan. But the amendment would not set up the tax credits it would instruct the Senate to do so, forcing House Republicans to take a vote on something the upper chamber would do later.

The amendment is also expected to repeal Obamacare's taxes a year earlier than originally planned, a win for conservatives who want to eliminate the Affordable Care Act as quickly a possible. more...

I am burning mad! This is Trumpcare based on his base, not for the whole nation. I'm angry and the repugnants are gonna keep hearing from me about the orange fake president.

12. ITS NOT TOO EARLY to start hollering about Medicare & SS - esp considering this bill starts

the process of dismantling Medicare and later SS...

No sweetener will make THAT palatable, and yet I wonder how many people are informed enough to know that that is what is in the works.

If we wait til the actual bills are in place to dismantle medicare and ss - it will be too late to mobilize. The propaganda will have taken hold

6. The FBI and other investigative agencies have nothing

whatsoever to do with passing trumpcares.

The rest of us can focus on more than one issue at a time.

I imagine congress critters can focus on a lot more than two issues.

4. For people about to loose their health care it's deadly serious.

We've kinda been beyond serious for a while now.

7. I never believed that it wouldn't pass

some version, some how, some way.

After 60 repeal votes in the last session of congress, it's obvious they're not going to stop, especially now that they can practically taste it.

14. I don't think they are going after a single Dem vote.

This cake is for Republicans who recoiled at the plan when they saw it.

So if a Dem votes for it, they're twice the fool.

13. Since 1994, the Republican party has not considered itself responsible for American Citizens

After Newt's "Revolution", the Republican party ceased being concerned for the American people and has only focused on representation for itself, with the occasional bone thrown to the red masses to keep them following. And even those bones are rare, mostly they keep the herd in line with fear. They gutted the working-class and told them it was all the Democrats fault. And the fools believe them. Republicans could, literally, saw a voter's leg off and say it was a Democrat doing it with a straight face.

15. A reserve fund--total bullshit....

So they pass it and that "fund" drys up in a year or so. Guess how much will be added back in?? Yeah ZERO $$$.

No one should be stupid enough to vote for this BS.
