Top Dem calls for investigation into House Intelligence chairman

Source: The Hill

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) on Thursday called for an investigation into House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who bypassed the panel to brief President Trump on information related to U.S. surveillance of his transition team.

During an interview on CNN's "New Day," Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, called the Intelligence panel a "very special committee."

"They are privileged to information that most members of Congress may never see and so you expect them to be extremely confidential," he added.

"What he did was basically to go to the president, who's being investigated, by the FBI and others and by the intelligence committee, to give them information."

The US has gotten too used to horrible, unconscionable acts coming from this administration with no action, no follow up, tepid late responses and no consequences.

Right on, Elijah! Don't let it slide. This low-life Nunes belongs in jail.

with the fear of the loss of at least 25 or so swing seats that Democrats need to retake the House.... That might force their hand to hold a "show" investigation to get this out of the way so they can enact the rest of their draconian agenda as quickly as they can. In any case, the issue is apparently not going away and they are all going to have to decide how to extricate themselves from it.

fucked up, I have a feeling nothing will happen, and the Republicans will have scored this as a win-win for them. They are probably trying to figure out how to keep power now, so Democrats will never be able to rule again. Fuckers need to be perp-walked off to prison!!

Might seem like a long shot, but it'll take that, or an honorable judge who keeps digging the way Sirica did, or thorough disgust by 80+% of the voting public at the unending corruption. Take your pick.

Or we're sunk.

The very reason why Putin wanted the GOP in power is because they are completely corruptible.

The only reason Nixon was ran out of office was because the American people weren't willing to accept a crook for a president. The Reich wing media has convinced enough people that doesn't matter anymore.

The powerful Republican is battling the DoD to move a massive intelligence complex to an isolated island in the Azores, at a reported extra cost of $1.2 billion. Why?

Probably neither. Probably neither. What I said, look I said, Donna Brazile had information, and she had information on Hillary’s debate questions. I said why didn’t Hillary apologize. Donna Brazile just admitted that that was right. I said the election was rigged against Bernie, a lot of people agree with that one, a lot of people hated the statement when I made it.

I think they are mostly craven, self-serving, money before country type of mostly guys and will not hold Nunes or Drumpf accountable. However, their treachery is becoming more and more obvious to everyone who's not a total trumped up teahadist.
