Gallup: Trump Approval Rating Now Lower Than Obama, Clinton Records

Source: Talking Points Memo

By MATT SHUHAM Published MARCH 27, 2017, 2:29 PM EDT

President Donald Trump’s approval rating reached a new low in Gallup’s daily polling average Monday.

According to Gallup, 36 percent of respondents to its daily polls approved of Trump’s performance in office, while 57 percent disapproved.

Gallup arrives at its approval numbers by averaging the previous three days of polling. Monday's numbers reflect responses from March 24-26, during and following the surprising failure of Republicans’ Obamacare replacement plan on Friday.

Trump’s Gallup approval is now lower than former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton's approval numbers were at any point in their presidencies, according to an analysis by Gallup's editor-in-chief. Obama reached a low of 38 percent in 2011 and 2014. Former President Bill Clinton reached a low of 37 percent in 1993. Former President George W. Bush reached his low, 25 percent, in October 2008.

Proof that no matter how catastrophic the mistake, there'll always be 25% of voters who are totally impervious.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 35% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 42% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -7.

The latest Mar. 27 polls are not looking good for him even there. He's now down to -16.

Considering what Congress's approval rating is... he has a way to go.

But it is in the right direction.

Of course, now he absolutely disgusts me. No way that narcissitic liar should be President. I hope the system will work as designed and expel him via empeachment.
