Perez unveils new DNC communications shop

Source: The Hill

New Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Tom Perez is deputizing one of his longtime aides to lead the party's communications shop.

Xochitl Hinojosa, a top adviser to Perez both at the Labor Department and during his bid for the DNC spot, will serve as the DNC communications director.

According to a release from the DNC, Hinojosa's task will be to orient the part's message both around opposition to President Trump and also a "proactive message of economic opportunity and Democratic values."

Adrienne Watson will shift over to the spot of new deputy communications director. Both she and Hinojosa worked together on Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. Before that, Watson worked for the pro-Clinton super PAC "Ready for Hillary." In her new role, she'll continue work on the party's anti-President Trump "war room."

(he was always a regular on the show about once a month when he was Labor Secretary).

Much of his emphasis was on bolstering the states in order to finally attempt to break all the egregious gerrymandering and he noted that we need to make sure that we elect or maintain (D) governors in (like in VA & NJ this year & PA next year), and start tackling the state legislatures so that we can have some control over the redistricting - which obviously impacts Congress.

Wow - Actually found a Soundcloud upload of the interview he had this morning -

... will be much better at uniting Democrats, growing membership and involvement, gaining donors, and building party strength.

"proactive message of economic opportunity and Democratic values."

Yes, yes, YES!!! Thank GOD!! I get so sick of the constant attacks and smears on the Democratic Party and Democrats. This will be a welcome change!

Thank you Tom Perez! Good luck to the new DNC Communications Director, Xochitl Hinojosa.

I have never seen Joe so aggressive to try to drown out and talk over someone when he couldn't handle Perez' tough talk against Repubs and their hateful agenda, taking away health care, etc. Perez wore out Joe though, and prevailed in making his points forcefully blaming Repub leaders (not just Trump)
