Warner Donates to Fund to Aid Colorado Shooting Victims

Warner Bros., the studio that released “The Dark Knight Rises,” made an unspecified donation to a fund that will aid victims of the shooting that took place at a screening of the movie last week in Colorado.
Warner worked with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper to identify the Community First Foundation’s Aurora Victim Relief Fund, to aid surviving victims and families of the 12 people slain in the shooting, Susan Fleishman, a spokeswoman for the Time Warner Inc. (TWX) film unit, said today in an interview.
Fleishman declined to say how much the studio has given. Warner employees can contribute as well through a link on the Givingfirst.org website, Fleishman said.
The shooting took place on July 20, at a midnight screening of the Batman movie at an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater. James Holmes, arrested in the shooting deaths, is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, a charge that can carry the death penalty.

Warner Bros. to Make 'Substantial' Donation to Colorado Shooting Victims

Warner Bros., the studio behind The Dark Knight Rises, is making a donation to charities supporting victims of the Aurora, Colo., shooting rampage.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the studio has been in contact with Colorodo governor John Hickenlooper's office and will contribute to a fund identified by the governor on the website givingfirst.org, which is a program of Colorado's Community First Foundation. The fund distributes monies across several charities that will support victims of the July 20 killing spree that left at least 12 dead and dozens injured.
The studio will not release publically the amount of the lump sum donation but sources say it is "substantial."
Warner Bros. CEO Barry Meyer also is set to send a companywide email on Monday evening advising employees of the donation and explaining how they can donate personally to the victims.

I didn't think that WB would, but have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to hear they are.
Will you go see the movie again (or go see it at all if you haven't seen it yet), knowing that they are doing this gesture?
It's weird because I think it gives me a different perspective of the film since I didn't have the tragedy in the back of my mind when I saw it. They also played a trailer for the film "The Gangster Squad" that featured a section where guys are machine gunning theater-goers. Suffice it to say, that trailer is no longer before the movie anymore.
But yeah, I'm planning on seeing it again, but I was planning that all along 'cause I'm a big nerd like that.
