U.S. Navy strike group to move toward Korean peninsula: U.S. official

Source: Reuters

A U.S. Navy strike group will be moving toward the western Pacific Ocean near the Korean peninsula, a U.S. official told Reuters on Saturday, as concerns grow about North Korea's advancing weapons program.

Earlier this month North Korea tested a liquid-fueled Scud missile which only traveled a fraction of its range.

The strike group, called Carl Vinson, includes an aircraft carrier and will make its way from Singapore toward the Korean peninsula, according to the official, who was not authorized to speak to the media and requested anonymity.

"We feel the increased presence is necessary," the official said, citing North Korea's worrisome behavior.

Hmm. I wonder how much progress, if any, the Donald made with Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier this week when discussing North Korea. Is Drumpf prepared to pre-emptively strike there now too?

and you would need that strike group in position to bounce the rubble.

Our carriers also carry air-delivered B-61 nuclear bombs.

And a certain Major Kong-Bannon to deliver them...

personally think that its yet another stupid as shit thing for him to do but the last time I checked the President can order navy ships to move or I should say he can order his people to order them to move.

I mean will he ask congress before he strikes NK. Or can he just use the precedent he just set on Thursday to order strikes whenever and wherever he wants?

Trump is Captain Finlander, tormenting the Soviet submarine to the point of final conflict.

One stupid mistake and...

Not shown in this clip is the scene where the Soviet sub is destroyed. Then they realized that a nuclear torpedo was fired as soon as the anti-sub weapon splashed in the water. The crew of the USS Bedford has just moments to live, as the sonar pings get faster and faster.

While we supposedly have radiation detectors, they won't pick something up in a properly shielded container.

I guarantee Kim Jong-un's honor and pride are greater than Trump's. If poked, he might strike first.

Just as we have military plans for most scenarios, I'm sure they've been working on things for decades too.
Heck, we lost 7 nukes and can't find them, a couple in the Carolinas and in the bay of Savannah, GA. We even dropped a live nuke in North Carolina or Virginia and two of the three fail safe devices failed, and the final one almost failed. We almost nuked ourselves with a mega-ton nuke--if it wasn't for dumb luck.

You'll know it's getting dangerous when the order is given by State and Defense Departments order the evacuation of non-essential personnel and dependents. The exception is State...they're so dysfunctional they probably have no idea there are procedures in place for the evacuation.

obviously, as we have just seen, not totally on his own.
but....attacking another country is war, and he did not get Congressional approval for Syria, nor approval of other necessary groups
thus I wonder...are the idiots who did the actual planning, aiming and firing of the missiles, are they also guilty of breaking the law/Constitution/whatever???

but no one in the know appears to take this buffoon seriously. The Syria action was politically safe for 45/140. Korea, not so much an I hope cooler heads will prevail. I'm not hopeful though. Thank god my son was reassigned out of Korea a year ago.

The purpose of positioning the task force is to goad Kim Crazy into doing something stupid....which shouldn't be hard...

Trump will use that as an excuse....

Maybe I'm just paranoid but with Bannon and some of the other crazies surrounding Trump (who, himself, is a nut case) I think a bit of paranoia is justified

he starts screwing with NK. The three state that will get nuked first are Washington, Oregon, and California. Washington however is the absolute closest. I want that SOB to be right here when he gets us nuked. He does not have to attack NK all he has to do is yak his filthy mouth like always and bad hair baby boy will just want to show us that he can.
