Mike Tyson Asks Chris Christie to Bug Trump About Pardon He Says He Was Promised

Source: Mediaite

by David Bixenspan | 1:28 pm, April 14th, 2017

Mike Tyson and President Donald Trump were once very good friends, although it was a rocky relationship, to say the least. So in a weird way, it’s not entirely surprising that in a video posted by WNBC-TV, Thursday night, Tyson claimed that Trump promised him a pardon for his rape conviction. It gets even weirder.

Tyson made the claim while sharing the stage with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and asked the governor to place a call to the president on his behalf. Christie joked — awkwardly — that he would raise the matter with Trump.

The exchanged happened while Tyson was appearing at the NJ Reentry Corporation’s prisoner reentry conference at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City. Former Governor Jim McGreevey asked Tyson if he had anything to say to Christie. To which Tyson replied:

Man, governor I wish you could talk to Donald Trump, cause I haven’t talked to him in many years. Tell him he said he was going to give me my pardon so I am waiting for my pardon. He said it out of his mouth so I’m waiting.

“I will put it on my list for the next phone call, Mike,” said Christie.

In the meantime, Russian businesses are pushing ahead with projects to try to bring the two countries closer together. Russia’s top lobbyist is organizing a road show for entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to investors across America this summer. And the co-owner of a leading for-profit university, Synergy, plans to hire Mike Tyson to promote a business conference in New York in October, followed by one in Moscow in November.

Was Mike Tyson serious? This would be in bad taste even as a joke.
Crude, crass and disgusting.

That only federal charges may be given consideration for pardon by the Executive.
