Supporter Accused of Assaulting Woman at Rally Blames Trump
Source: MSN/NBC News
A Donald Trump supporter who allegedly assaulted young woman during a campaign rally last year is claiming the president is to blame in his response to a lawsuit against him.
Alvin Bamberger, 75, who is accused of shoving protester Kashiya Nwanguma at a Louisville, Kentucky, rally on March 1, 2016, alleges in a cross claim filed Friday that he would not have touched the woman had then-candidate Trump not urged his supporters to remove protesters from the venue.
"Bamberger had no prior intention to act as he did," reads the response to the suit filed in U.S. District Court for Western Kentucky. "Bamberger would not have acted as he did without Trump and/or the Trump Campaign's specific urging and inspiration."
Three protesters at the event Nwanguma, Molly Shah and Henry Brousseau alleged in the original suit against Trump, Bamberger and another man that audience members pushed and shoved them after being incited by Trump.

Wasn't Trump promising to pay the legal bills if any of his supporters were sued for sucker punching protesters?

(6 posts)I think most of us have seen that video (African-American woman removed by force) at least several times; we saw and heard #45 encourage physical interaction with that woman, and others in other campaign venues. So far, he has slipped out like a greased pig on such evidence, by saying something equivalent to "That's not what I meant." He's trying to that again in this instance.

(45,806 posts)not everyone. I wonder though if under the law, someone can be blamed for others actions. I realize there is a charge of "inciting to riot" but does that apply in this case? I WISH the Con could be charged and forced to pay their legal fees & found guilty of a crime himself, but it sounds to me like these cases will end with a fine and court costs of the individual and the Con will be judged not guilty of anything.

(776 posts)It could easily be argued everyone else thought he would pay theirs in the same situation. Just the fact that he said he would pay their court costs shows collusion to a crime... trump is getting ready to find out poor white people have no loyalty in court haha

(58,785 posts)Not. Authoritarian followers swing whichever direction their leaders' hot air wafts them. This poor fellow's just showing his own stuff when he finds himself abandoned, outside alone, his gift of zealous group loyalty betrayed.

(28,246 posts)I saw it right here at DU: we're supposed to be casting aside our stances on troublesome social issues---like support of same-sex marriage, for instance---in an effort to coax votes out of trump supporters.
Fortunately, I think this is a minority viewpoint. It sure as hell isn't my viewpoint.

Drumpf NEVER EVER does anything for anyone other than himself. He hasn't paid one dime for anything done at any of his rallies and now denies ever inciting them. Unfortunately for the orange assface, tape is out there and he is totally guilty as hell. Hope he gets convicted, but that totally depends on which jurisdiction the case is being heard. Judges that condone rape would certainly pardon him since they worship the male as alpha jerk mode and don't give a shit about anyone other than themselves.
