There are numerous reports that Steve Stephens, the accused Facebook killer, has committed suicide in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Early reports say that Stephens shot himself after a brief chase around 11:10 a.m. in Erie.

and that man's family. Steve Stephens deserved nothing but a cage for the rest of his life. He'll get a coffin instead. Too bad he couldn't have killed himself on Friday or Saturday instead.
At least he saved the cops the cost of a bullet. And he saved the taxpayers the millions it would cost to try him, as well as the care and feeding for the next 20 years until his lethal injection. Probably the only decent thing he's done.

Obviously he did have problems, but barring actual significant mental illness, this seems to me to be more along the lines of domestic abuse. Shooting a guy to make your ex look bad is a twisted act. The deflection of blame onto the gf is a characteristic of abusers.
