Furious South Koreans Blast Ignorant Trump For Distortion Of History
Source: Huffington Post
Many in South Korea are steamed at President Donald Trump for saying their nation was once “part of China.” Trump told The Wall Street Journal that Chinese President Xi Jinping gave him a history lesson during their meeting earlier this month, which gave him a new appreciation of the difficulties of defusing the situation in North Korea. “And, you know, you’re talking about thousands of years ... and many wars,” Trump was quoted as saying April 12. “And Korea actually used to be a part of China. And after listening for 10 minutes, I realized that it’s not so easy.” But South Koreans say their nation was never part of China. What he is doing to our reputation world-wide is going to take lifetimes to repair. Assuming we manage to come through this administration with a functional nation.

1. Not the modern state of Korea but definitely historically
The peninsula was fully or partially invaded a couple of times in the 1600s by the Manchus which established the Qing Dynasty in China.

8. It was invaded by the Japanese too, but that doesn't make them "historically Japanese" either
"Historically, the Navajo were Spanish" by that measure. |

4. Dear South Koreans
We feel your pain and apologize for the screwups of the orange turd.
We empathize because we used to be the land of the free and home of the brave. Now--at least temporarily--we are the land of the petty tyrant and home of the p*ssygrabber. So, we suffer too. ![]() |

7. Well, I guess we should be glad that Trump
listened to what another foreign leader said, for a brief moment anyway. But, of course, he has to open his mouth, get it wrong and ruin the moment. He hears what he wants to hear, I believe...

know all about this part of the world."
It must have exhausted him. |
