Sessions: Democrats Will 'Pass Anything As Long As It Doesn't Work'

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published APRIL 24, 2017, 10:33 AM EDT

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday brushed off opposition to President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall, saying that Democrats will “pass anything as long as it doesn’t work.”

“In 2006, 64 Democrats approved a bill to build a fence, a barrier,” Fox’s Brian Kilmeade said, referring to the Secure Fence Act of 2006. “What changed?”

“Let me tell you, be frank with you,” Sessions replied. “Whenever you come up with anything that actually fixed the problems, that is what does not pass. They’ll pass anything as long as it doesn’t work.”

Sessions said Democrats will “talk about fixing the border again and again and again, but when the chips are down they back off.”

So why is he popping off about what the legislative branch is doing. Compare democratic contributions to republican contributions any day of the week. Absolutely no comparison. SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Consumer Protection Administration, EPA, FDA, VA, 40hr work weeks, overtime, Child labor laws, ACA, Maternity leave, equal pay for women (until Trump's executive order to stop it)... the list goes on and on and on. Republicans only know how to obstruct and steal SC seats. It's always been the "Republican" do nothing congress, the Republican great recession etc. Sessions may have his day now but he too will get ousted. He needs to stay focused on the Trump illegalities...you know, DoJ business.

The Secure Fence Act of 2006

The Secure Fence Act of 2006, which was passed by a Republican Congress and signed by President George W. Bush, authorized about 700 miles of fencing along certain stretches of land between the border of the United States and Mexico.

The act also authorized the use of more vehicle barriers, checkpoints and lighting to curb illegal immigration, and the use of advanced technology such as satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Originally, the act called on the Department of Homeland Security to install at least two layers of reinforced fencing along some stretches of the border. That was amended later, however, through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2008, which got rid of the double-layer requirement.

Currently, 702 miles of fencing separates the United States from Mexico, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

and in fact the entire sexual predators team is a bunch of racists---------------your ilk wants to build a Berlin style wall, in fact I posted this subject matter about two weeks ago, and this is what this lady said................

And then you said that "democrats" will pass anything just so long that it doesn't work------------you Sessions are a idiot a racists one at that

And then your sexual predator boss is doing this.....................and in essence your "boss" the sexual predator likes to "blackmail" the people......

No, Jeff Sessions, the same "guy" that lied to a sitting member of senate, and the same "guy" that more than likely committed TREASON, democrats will not pass something just so long that it doesn't work, we pass legislation to help people, not hurt people, like your party does on a regular basis------------because our party did the following--------like ACA, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Education, EPA, NASA, NIH, and your narcissistic Treasonous leader wants to build a wall doesn't matter what kind just any wall, just like walls that he built to "stiff" contractors and others when he makes contact with anyone

You are no long a political operative - you are now the Attorney General. Your new job is to enforce the laws of this nation, not write laws, nor opine on political matters. If you can't do your job impartially (and it looks like you can't) then resign.

If not for his skin color, name, and party affiliation, he should be the greatest Republican president of all time. He managed to cut taxes, achieve a very low unemployment number, the stock market reached record highs, increased imigration enforcement, passed a rather conservative national healthcare/insurance law, and drastically cut the deficit. They've got nothing left except lies and white supremecy.

Obama RAISED the tax rate on the wealthy, extended unemployment benefits for millions for several years, and pumped more money into education, the arts, science, infrastructure, energy alternatives, preservation of the environment and its natural or historical monuments, conservation of animals on land and in the sea, and a pile of other things that no "Republican President" would touch with a 10-foot pole.

But agree that they (the GOP) have nothing left but their rantings and KKKravings because every "attempt" that Obama made to "reach across the aisle" to utilize their agenda, was ultimately thwarted by them when they chose to automatically respond with the "opposite".

GOP is in fact trying to harm the American people. Never forget that!
