As opponents criticize Jean Stothert's similarities to Scott Walker, she praises him at a campaign..

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Roseann Moring

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker drew a stark contrast between himself and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday.

Walker, in town to campaign for Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert, said that he’s a Midwesterner who believes in common sense, not an East Coast socialist like Sanders.

Sanders was in town last week to support Stothert’s opponent, former state Sen. Heath Mello.

Walker spoke highly of Stothert.

that's how much of a shambles the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has become. This will allow Walker to crisscross the country raising money and campaigning for others. What a sad state of affairs.

Now, Wisconsin is part of what they hope will be a new "red wall." They know that national demographics are not in their favor, but if they can capitalize on the resentment of blue collar doofuses and suburban racists in WI, MI OH and PA then they have a buffer.

It is also true that the Wisconsin Dem. Party is almost comically inept. They can't even find a token Dem to oppose Walker? Sheesh, even AL, MS, UT, and other red states can do that. The sad thing is that this probably means Tammy Baldwin is toast also. Feingold getting trounced was the canary in the coal mine six years ago. We are now a locked-down red state in the Midwest, much like Kansas.

How bad do things have to get in these states before people push back and not vote rethug?

Dystopian states with people left for dead in streets. Schools closed, children wandering the streets hungry and homeless and a major ecological disaster? Hunting and fishing sports completely destroyed? Universities closed and open gun fights in the street with white people hunting down and killing black and brown people? I see a Soylent green situation in Kansas and Wisconsin.

and I never thought I'd see anything like this.

Again, it would help a lot if the State Dem. Party worried a little less about protecting the paid positions of the old-guard party establishment and worked at some basic things like- I don't know- recruiting candidates at the local level, analytics, actual campaign infrastructure outside of Milwaukee and Madison...

Just because he doesn't currently have any opponents that doesn't mean that he won't by the time the election season comes.

She is massively frustrated with the State Dem. Party. They sit on their hands and wait for someone to step forward- no recruiting efforts whatsoever. What we HAVE had: a steady stream of names from the "Who's Who Among Wisconsin Democrats" announcing that they will NOT run.
