The NSA's former head of intelligence law is joining the Senate's Trump-Russia probe

Source: Business Insider

The former head of intelligence law at the National Security Agency (NSA), April Doss, has been hired to work on the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election, her law firm confirmed in a press release on Wednesday.

Doss, who spent over a decade at the NSA and now chairs the Cybersecurity and Privacy practice at Saul Ewing, LLP, will serve as the committee's special counsel as it examines " allegations that Russia participated in a disinformation campaign intended to benefit President Donald Trump, and claims of potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia," the firm said.

Doss will join the committee on May 1.

From her work bio:

April F. Doss spent over a decade at the National Security Agency, stepping down from her position as the National Security Agency’s Associate General Counsel for Intelligence Law to join the private sector as a partner at the law firm of Saul Ewing, where she advises clients on cybersecurity issues including incident response, privacy, Big Data governance, surveillance law and process, and other cybersecurity- related issues. At NSA she served as part of the senior management team for NSA’s new technology development. Prior to her service at the NSA, Doss spent a number of years as a Public Defender, Civil Litigator, and In-house Counsel in higher education.

I guess now we know which way the investigation is going.

Nice to see some movement.

Which of course means that when they ask her what they should do with their most sensitive data, she tells them: "write it down."

Sounds like they are getting serious about getting to the bottom of this mess. IMO, that she is outside the government speaks volumes.

WILL take time. But at the end, it looks like the entire Republican top leadership could go down.

No immunity for testimony, unless Public and you name Names. And NO PARDONS. Trump and Pence go FIRST and that's it no deals.

Besides throwing both in prison, steps need to be taken to ensure Mike Pence isn't president for so much as a single millisecond. We also need to ensure Trump doesn't get a chance to nominate a new VP.
