(66,327 posts)is the only headline that would justify the gun-crazies' eternal (and infernal) refrain of "Well, why don't we ban knives then, too?"
Which we will start hearing in 3...2...1...

You realized some human beings were just killed, and more might die, right?

(37,748 posts)No doubt, yours is absolute as to when a thing may be commented on with political overtures involved.
We of course, will look forward to your own arbitrary and imaginary measure so as to better deny offending those directly involved with this tragedy, yet completely unaware of what is being discussed here.
Oddly enough, your own response indicted someone for what you yourself just did. I imagine you'll rationalize a distinction lacking a relevant difference to better justify holding others to a higher standd than yourself. It's human nature.

Regardless of any basis in fact! (which is usually lacking)

(37,748 posts)Covering oneself in ash is the only valid response to this tragedy. Discussion be damned...
I imagine we all of us advertise our character in ways we do not intend. As you just did.

(3,477 posts)As far as "discussion" is concerned, it seems to me that poster is attempting to discredit any discussion of knife violence, suggesting any reference to it is the work of "gun crazies" and therefore invalid. Odd, since the weapon used was a knife, not a gun. "Discussion be damned...", indeed. Interesting how you rush to the defense.

(35,069 posts)Will this be "mental illness" or "terrorism"?
Will this be compared first to the man who tried to do a stabbing spree at OSU late last year (The school I currently go to and an attack I barely dodged myself) or to the man who attacked a coffee shop at Transy with a hatchet just a couple of days ago?

specific people. APD is still investigating.
I pass by that spot every day on the way to work. Hope everyone there is safe.
Facebook has this check in thing to tell everyone you are safe from the violent incident. Saw my sister and my best friend on there. I hate this world that these things are so common people think of features like that.
Update: Just got news alert. Attack linked to mental health. Not a target attack.

(1,828 posts)Violent society? How come the mentally ill don't resort to throwing flowers or kisses? Something in our society triggers this deadly behavior. I know it happens everywhere, but it happens way too often in the US. We never seem to address why.
