Tillerson Defends Election Interference Not Coming Up With Lavrov

Source: MSN/NBC News

WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Rex Tillerson this weekend aimed to defend the Trump administration from reports that Russia's attempts to interfere with the 2016 election did not come up during in-person meetings and conversations between the White House, State Department, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the nation's capital this week.

"I think we have such a broad range of important issues that have to be addressed in the U.S.-Russia relationship," TIllerson said during an exclusive interview on "Meet The Press" aired Sunday. "Obviously the interference in the election is one of those. I think it's been well documented, it's pretty well understood, the nature of that interference, here and elsewhere."

On Wednesday, during Lavrov's first trip to Washington, D.C. of the Trump administration, TIllerson hosted the foreign minister at the State Department and President Trump hosted him in the White House Oval Office.

Lavrov told reporters during a press conference after the White House meeting that the "absurd issues" of election interference issue did not come up during their meetings. He even pointed to President Trump's own assertions that the story was "fake news."

Does anyone know what other non-heads-of-state Trump has met with? Isn't protocol usually that a US Secretary of State meets w/ foreign ministers, other nations' junior leaders, etc.; and then the US President only meets with his 'equal'?

(Never mind that Trump's actual equal would be a Bulgarian cockroach.)

Why do Putin's lackeys get an express lane to the Oval Office?

This whole thing stinks...

....where he said he spoke with putin on the phone and asked trump to meet with lavrov and kislyak and trump said, "...he asked me...what am i gonna say...no?"

Yes, you asshole, you say "no" to putin, just on basic fucking principle, protocol, and the fact that we're investigating your team's connection to Russia. the fact that you feel you can't say no to putin under these circumstances sounds a lot like treason to me.

This is an amazing time, NOT because these criminal psychopaths are acting like criminal psychopaths, but that 50 million Americans approve.

to those skeptical of Louise Mensch leaks-this website sticks to just the facts known. Note you can read the basic "key point" timeline or hit "Expand All" on Timeline" that gives you more detail for each "key point". Nice option. 10 minutes of your time is well spent on this website. Thanks for the heads up.

5. Translation: Putin Is Calling The Shots

Putin told Trump that Comey had to go before talking to Russian officials and Comey gets fired awkwardly. And the Trump-Russia ties that triggered this is mostly the Trump-Russia business dealings rather than the Trump-Russia election interference.
