Putin aide slams McCain: Thank God he doesn't shape foreign policy

Source: The Hill

BY JOE UCHILL - 05/22/17 11:32 AM EDT

A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday slammed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a frequent critic of the Kremlin, for the senator's "rude attacks."

"Thank God, this gentleman is not the one who shapes or implements U.S. foreign policy," Dmitry Peskov told the Russian state news service TASS. "Therefore we will naturally avoid exaggerating the significance of these insulting and rude attacks or linking them with bilateral Russian-U.S. relations somehow."

McCain during an interview on Sunday said he was "speechless" about an Oval Office meeting between President Trump and a Russian delegation including Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "I know this: Mr. Lavrov is the stooge of a thug and a murderer," McCain told "Fox News Sunday," presumably referring to Putin. "He had no business in the Oval Office."

Peskov noted that McCain has uttered "insults on several occasions before," but said the Republican's latest comments went "over the line of decency and departed from a tone appropriate for a statesman."

They meddled in the election and probably changed the makeup of our government, but that does not give them open license to participate via criticism.

Say what you will about McCain, but the last thing I'd call him is "indecent" as in "over the line of decency.

He is, after all, a rethuglicon and as such has no grasp of decency or statesmanship.

A lot of Rethugs have been trying to create sunlight between themselves and Drumpf in the eyes of the media - but only because they know he'll be out before the end of the year.

The fact remains that today's GOP ranges from mere warmongers to outright Armageddon freaks.

Murderers getting the vapors over words? How dare he impugn them for blatantly throwing the US election by lying and hacking and actin as enemies of this country! They paid for drumpfs success and collusion and cozying up to them, they think they are entitled to the fruit their $ has bought and how dare he try to point out reality. Who cares if the best spy and weapon against ISIS was outted by Drumpf out of idiocy and ignorance, how dare McCain try to live in reality!

I'm agreeing with Peskov's "Thank God, this gentleman is not the one who shapes or implements U.S. foreign policy,", but for different reasons.

Watch out for pig poop falling from the sky.

But most likely he'll continue to do nothing but say a few tepid 'harsh' words now and again.
