McCain decries 'media frenzy' around Capitol

Source: The Hill

BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 05/24/17 09:22 AM EDT

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) says the media is frequently "ambushing" lawmakers, decrying the “30-second news cycles” created by social media.

"We are in almost a media frenzy. There are large numbers of reporters, cameras, microphones waiting as you go to vote," McCain said Tuesday during an appearance on "Late Night" with host Seth Myers.

He added that reporters "are all waiting and ambushing for something that’s quotable."
McCain said he's "not a critic of the media," though he does “hate them." He said he sometimes gets himself into trouble because he is not careful when speaking to the press. At one point, Myers starts to ask McCain if he “ever wished they…”

"Do I ever wish I was president? Yes,” McCain interjected with the show’s audience responding in applause. "But life isn't fair," he added.

McCain: The Most Reprehensible of the Keating Five

"...You're John McCain, clearly the guiltiest, most culpable and reprehensible of the Keating Five. But you know the power of television and you realize this is the only way you can possibly save your political career."

His political career should have been over and done with at that point.

But no, Error-Zona voters fell for the contrite act (or otherwise voted like idiots) and put this unethical corporate tool back in the Senate.

It could be argued they forced this reality TV star upon our nation, and now they are reaping a whirlwind of profits.

Interesting to note: they did the same damned thing with WMD's and Bush's wars

we are all suckers

It could also be argued that "reality TV" is the original fake broadcasting

Little lumpy Johnny LOVES to be on TV, who does he think he is fooling? Wish he was president, with PayMe as VP? God help us all. Retire, McCain, unless he is afraid to in case his military and medical records will be unsealed once he is out?? BIG secrets hidden there.

a few minutes before the start of the limbaugh show friday before the Rcon convention - without limbaugh mccain had no chance and hte convention would have been a disaster. limbaugh didn't like mccain and could not go with pawlenty or lieberman.

limbaugh would still have kept attacking obama and dems but the base would have sensed his dislike for the republican ticket.

“You bought this bad pony. You ride it.” Mccain was one of the GOP who stood aside and let the orange idiot slide into office. Now that the feeding frenzy of the media has descended upon DC to dig up every little nugget of tantalizing corruption/obstruction news of the idiot's circus and the treasonous GOP, Mccain got what he deserved.

The Trump administration is expected to appoint Cindy McCain, the wife of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), to a role in the State Department, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

Which position McCain could step into is not yet clear, though one potential option could be as an ambassador-at-large — a post in which she could focus on a specific issue, such as human trafficking.

The McCains discussed possible choices with President Trump during a dinner at the White House last month, the AP reported.

Multiple train wrecks, attempts to conceal them, and we see a matching GOP cavalier business-as-usual attitude perhaps? Perhaps if they would Google the word "accountability" it might sink in. Not holding my breath however.

This is the most outrageous president in the country's history and are some of the most troubling times for America. When things get this crazy, you have to expect the media to go on overdrive.

But he is out for himself, and screws his party (or anyone) if need be.

This makes him useful when you know how to harness his predictability, like rabid dog guarding a junkyard.
