Delco election official vows to defy (Pennsylvania Voter) ID law

By Mari A. Schaefer and Julie Zauzmer
Inquirer Staff Writers

Elections inspector Christopher L. Broach said, "To ask me to enforce something that violates civil rights is ludicrous and absolutely something I am not willing to do."

Even as the fate of Pennsylvania's new voter-identification law plays out in a Harrisburg courtroom, an election official in Delaware County is vowing not to enforce it.

Christopher L. Broach, a Democratic inspector of elections in the tiny borough of Colwyn, said he would not ask voters to prove who they are on Election Day.

An IT consultant, Broach was elected inspector of elections but has recently acted as judge of elections to fill a vacancy. He called the law a ploy by the Republican-controlled legislature, "a wholly unethical decision that violated civil rights for the sake of getting Mitt Romney elected."

as far up your ass as your head appears to now be.

Would that we had more local elections officials of
this calibre.

A few months left before the elections but I already smell framing-up and violations, because such laws against voters will deprive people from their inalienable right. And what will happen to those ones who got no ID with picture? The exact number of these voters is unknown, but Reps decided to take their votes by making such anti-voter laws in places where they got power while Democrats just whining around... All this suggests that American electoral system for many decades didn't change and went out of date. And elections, even before voting, became the subject of much controversy and obviously focused on making a certain candidate a winner, not a person who will get the majority of votes... I won't be surprised if we completely lose our right to vote after such anti-voter laws...
