Trump Returns to Crisis Over Kushner as White House Tries to Contain It

Source: NYT

Mr. Trumps private legal team, led by his New York lawyer, Marc E. Kasowitz, was preparing to meet in Washington to face fresh questions about contacts between Mr. Kushner and representatives of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. The president may meet with Mr. Kasowitz as early as Sunday, and aides have recruited a series of prominent Washington lawyers with experience in political investigations for Mr. Trump to interview in hopes that they might join the legal team.

Mr. Kushner, who organized the presidents Middle East stops at the start of the foreign trip, chose to return to Washington with several days to go and has been unusually subdued since then. But he has no plans to step down from his role as senior adviser or to reduce his duties, according to people close to him.

Still, there are signs that he is tiring of the nonstop combat and the damage to his reputation. He has told friends that he and his wife have made no long-term commitment to remain by Mr. Trumps side, saying they would review every six months whether to return to private life in New York.

3. Fascinating that we are just now hearing that I committed just for 6 months

I wonder if this leaves open Jared and Ivanka making the argument that they need to have more time with their young family and will be returning to NYC soon -- depending when they start the clock, possibly including some pre administration time, they could be said to be at 6 months now.

Leaving would save Trump from having to fire Jared. However, just as with Michael Flynn, being out of the administration will not end his potential legal problems, which sound pretty immense. Not to mention, with all that has been exposed, his business empire has some real problems too. With all that was exposed on how over extended he is on his 666 5th Avenue can you imagine anyone wanting to invest? (They would also know that they better want nothing from the US government as anyone will be HIGHLY scrutinized.)

As to Ivanka, it is hard to think of many people who saw their carefully crafted image take such a hit. Imagine that she really thought she would be seen as a leading example for young, ambitious business women!

Not to mention, what happens to Jared's portfolio from middle east peace, to opioid drugs!

Since when is it the accused's choice to stay at his job, especially when our nation's security is at stake? Where the hell are the cops when you need them?

and politicians are morons so they decide to show everyone how it is done. And then flail wildly about because it is harder than it looks.

is essentially illegal, if not, a violation of ethics rules when you work for the government. And what's worse, despite this per-inaugural incident, he, his wife, and his in-laws, have been flipping around from country to country using their father's position to enrich themselves, emptying the U.S. coffers of taxpayer money for their travel and security details, and blatantly violating the Logan Act.

The federal government is not their fucking piggy bank nor is it their "business" to run and do with as they please.

If he wasn't his in-law, Trump could just toss his rotting carcass under the wheels of the 'ol Greyhound. As it is, he'll have to fight with him to the bitter end. You can bet Ivanka wont have it any other way.

I wonder if Trump will ask Kushner to take the fall with promise of a full pardon later. That's risky because an impeached president isn't even going to pardon a Thanksgiving turkey, and Jared knows it.

It's not as if Trump's non-family appointees are that much better.

.......I thought of Kushner, and also sensed that he was in serious trouble. Let's hope these raging thieves get tossed sooner rather than later.
