TRUMP'S APPROVAL RATINGS ARE EVEN PLUNGING IN RIGHT-LEANING POLL REPORTS

Source: Newsweek

BY CHRIS RIOTTA ON 5/30/17 AT 12:46 PM

Donald Trump doesn't seem to mind that less than half of the country supports his presidency. The president shared a photo on Twitter Thursday that showed him clapping in front of an American flag with his most recent poll numbers from the right-leaning Rasmussen Reports, which placed his approval index at 48 percent. Trump wrote: "Thank you for your support. Together, we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" But by Monday, it seemed Rasmussen's score of Trump's young presidency was plunging, dipping to 44 percent upon his arrival back to Washington after his first trip abroad since assuming the Oval Office. That figure is much closer to virtually every other poll as of recent, which places Trump’s popularity among voters at nearly 42 percent, according to Gallup's three-day rolling average.

Even Fox News scored the president’s approval ratings last week at just 40 percent. The network’s analysis showed white voters and Americans without a college degree—two demographics crucial to Trump’s base during the 2016 election—were beginning to sharply disapprove of the president’s overall performance more than ever before.

Trump's tanking support in even right-leaning polls comes as his presidency has been enveloped in a Russian scandal that simply won’t go away, with former FBI Director Robert Mueller now leading a special counsel’s investigation into the Kremlin’s meddling in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia. Trump has repeatedly and furiously responded to the allegations on Twitter throughout his tenure in Washington, resulting in the majority of Americans also expressing their disapproval with his social media use, according to various polls.

Trump is reportedly establishing a "war room" within the White House to fight the accusations against his campaign and his administration’s ties to Russian oligarchs and Russian President Vladimir Putin's Kremlin operations. He’s also reportedly planning yet another shakeup of his administration, following the resignations of several major aides and staffers, including former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and Monday’s announcement of White House Communications Director Michael Dubke’s departure.

Sorry, don't mean to be snarky but until something actually happens (impeachment, resignation, frog march out of the WH), I'm not relying on polls any more.

I'm not sure where your "Nate Silver thought Hillary Clinton would win the election" comes from.

I won a dollar in the lottery, I had a 5% chance. A much worse chance than was given tRump in the election by fivethirtyeight.

I can't get excited about what Nate Silver or any other pollster has to say because nothing seems of these polls we get so excited about. Truth and facts and data don't appear to matter anymore.

Sorry, but there is nothing legitimate about the election, including the bullshit vote totals that no one is really allowed to count.

things that they believe happened.

This was the FBI's election, from beginning to end. They completely destroyed the reputation of the Democratic candidate with their relentless attacks on her candidacy. It was not consistent with the principles of liberal democracy.

until something definitive actually happens.

Clearly she won the election. Clearly he and his entire administration are guilty of treason several times over. And if even a WHIFF of ONE of those treasonous acts could have been associated in the most tenuous way with Barack Obama when he was President, the entire federal government would have been shut down while it was thoroughly investigated. Yet 45 remains in power, 45 is still signing executive orders and picking SCOTUS justices and nominating cabinet members as if none of this was going on.

Time and time again as he his shown irrefutable evidence of his wrongdoing, he says "no, that didn't happen" despite the irrefutable evidence, and the entire GOP just shrugs their shoulders and says "he says it didn't happen so it didn't happen. Nothing to see here."

As the wife of a disabled veteran from the Viet Nam war, I was disgusted to see Trump at Arlington laying a wreath, he with the five deferments, I wonder if he knows that there are hispanics and Muslims who are buried there, where is the respect for them. Also he has two strapping sons whose only feats seem to have been killing innocent animals, why are they not in the military?

You would have loved our Pinboy3niner. He was a Vietnam vet. We have quite a few.

My Dad volunteered and was later Special Forces with the Montegnards. The war broke his heart, very literally.

Your point about Hispanic and Muslim veterans buried at Arlington was right on.

Aloha no to you and your husband, and it's really nice to meet you.

Weren't they also know as the Hmong?, what I remember is that they were/are the mountain people that were our right hand men during Vietnam.

And your Father was a Warrior in his service, one of the many who are my Hero's since childhood, I am so humbled by the fact that we keep turning out Men like him, outstanding......

I remember, because my Mom and Dad were adopting a Jarais boy, and Dad's friend stayed in Vietnam and married a Rhade woman. I think the Hmong were/are mountain people too but not from that region.

The boy's name was Jaol, pronounced Joel. His father had been a chief but was beheaded by the VC when he refused to help them. His mother asked Dad to adopt him and bring him to the US.

Jaol died in my father's arms, shot in the throat. He was 12.

That's what broke my Father's heart, and he never healed. He felt he failed Jaol.

We never learned what had happened until my Father passed. A friend of his gave us his written account.

Nobody loves peace like those who we send to fight wars and thier families, right?

Aloha and much gratitude to you for all, and for your kind note.

I wouldn't be surprised if he starts more military action as a distraction from the negative issues surrounding him right now and to appease his base.
