Last edited Mon Jun 5, 2017, 10:59 AM - Edit history (2)

Source: CNN

Orig. headline: Orlando workplace fatalities reported

(CNN) Police are investigating a "multiple fatality" incident at a business headquarters in Orlando, Florida, according to Capt. Angelo Nieves with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. No other details were made available.

Developing story - more to come

Update #1:

The sheriff's office calls the situation "contained and stable," says CNN affiliate TV station WFTV. Police are not searching for an active shooter, the station says.

The location is an industrial area in suburban Orlando, northeast of downtown.
Forsyth Road was closed near Hanging Moss Road, WFTV reports. Police officers are gathered in a parking lot outside several warehouses.

Almost a year ago, Orlando was the site of the nation's worst terror attack since 9/11. On June 12, 2016, a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub.

I'm in Central Florida and anxious for more information. This was posted before any details. There isn't anything of substance in addition to the headline. I'd rather not know for another 30 minutes and see more details the first time I hear of it. But maybe that's just me.

At least in today's day in age where social media dominates. How can you expect to not know when news, news that isn't even reported by the media, can be read by millions of people via twitter within seconds? That's just an unreasonable expectation to expect zero reporting on something that, within minutes, is going to be burning up social media pages.

Still think there should be a difference between journalism and social media. Not everyone is hanging on Twittersphere's every word for our news.

I remember the early era of mass shootings... break in round the clock coverage.

Now... MSNBC hasn't even mentioned 5 people being shot and killed in Florida.

It's expected. It's a local news story now. Mass shootings have become normal.

and recall that whenever this type of thing happened, the President was expected to make some sort of statement of condolence to the victims.

Nowadays, we have someone in the WH attacking people expressing condolences to victims of violence.

sympathizer. Will orange menace assign Jarvanka to solve this non-muslim US murder rate?? Let's track all fired workers and angry divorced men, maybe internment camps or deportation? Oh wait, I forgot that's only for Muslims

that's only 3 fewer people than died in the London Bridge/Market attack. To summarize, terrorists=bad, nut with a gun=ok.
