Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley is tired of his requests to the Justice Department going unanswered and hes fighting back yet again.
The Iowa Republican announced Thursday that the committee wont advance the nomination of Stephen Boyd to be assistant attorney general for legislative affairs until he gets responses to at least 15 letters, some due more than six months ago.
Grassley, whose other frustrations led him to delay nominees this year and take to Twitter to get information from the Trump administration, spoke emphatically at a committee business meeting.
The department has refused now can you believe this the department has refused to make Mr. Boyd available for even a conversation with the committees oversight and investigative staff, Grassley said. The department needs to improve its communication with committee members and staff, it needs to be more serious about answering the mail and the questions from Congress.

(18,898 posts)Trump is new at this "government" thing, and he probably hasn't gotten around to talking to the Justice department yet. Oh, he HAS talked to the Justice department about "certain" things, but not this? Okay. Never mind.

(45,806 posts)but when the Con Clan ignores requests from their own congressmen and get in a fight, he's got real trouble! Grassley may be the first I've heard about to start fighting back, but I'm betting he's not the only Pub who wants to, and with the speed that this mess is going, it won't be long before more Pubs join Grassley in demanding responses to their questions.
Is the Con clan THAT stupid that they don't care how they treat the very people they need to get anything done, and MAYBE keep them out of prison?

(14,998 posts)But the Republicans won't do anything to Trump until they get their chance to pack the judiciary with right wing judges and pass their toxic legislation. Let's hope Mueller or Schneiderman can find something before it's too late.

(12,858 posts)His big issue was the insane prices the Pentagon was paying for simple
tools such as screwdrivers. In his 1st debate, my now ex - Iistening from
another room - said Grassley was sure to win 'because he sounded
Ike Will Rogers'!
