Don't know what's in the Senate health care bill?

Story highlights

Democrats are planning to prevent the chamber's routine business
Some said the move would highlight the GOP's closed-door process

(CNN)Senate Democrats are weighing whether to bring the chamber's business to a halt next week in an effort to voice their objections to the GOP health care push, according to sources familiar with the effort.
.........................

One Democratic source cautioned that the caucus may not go that far given the bipartisan atmosphere following the shooting at a congressional baseball practice Wednesday.

But other Democrats said they wanted to escalate the fight to give more prominence to the GOP's closed-door process of drafting health care legislation, which Republican leaders want to pass by month's end............................

Hell, they held up the appointment of the SCOTUS for a year. People are tired of Dems playing nice and being understanding... being wimps.

Frankly, I don't get it. I've been a straight-ticket Democrat for 32 years now, but it's more than a little exhausting to see Democrats REPEATEDLY wimp out rather than go to the mat. Either fight or get the fuck out of the way and let some new blood get in the ring.

An alternative, more accurate, headline: Democrats Consider Playing Nice Again.

This is no time to be cautious.

What bipartisan atmosphere? Secrets meetings about health care that exclude Democrats? And what about all the inflammatory comments I have seen in the news by repiggies who are saying liberals are violent and blaming all liberals for this shooting? Look at all the shootings done by those on the right. They haven't commented on that.

Obstruct them. They don't understand anything else.

I say 'B.S.' to that, let them demonstrate bipartisanship by presenting Dems (and EVERYONE) with their 'bill' first.

Using that horrible shooting as a craven reason to hide their suppression of the truth of how horrid their bill is is despicable but par for the anti democratic course these fascists have charted. To cave to their tactics would be equally despicable as there is nothing to be gained by such a cowardly course except the further dismantling of democracy by corporate interests in secret, which will lead to the death of thousands and the suffering of millions, and gain the enmity of the American people who are demanding that we step up and champion their interests. Failure to do so would mark us as the appeasement party who can't be trusted to act on our principles and values.

While we would welcome genuine cooperation, republicans meeting in secret, both literally and figuratively shutting out democrats and the American people from the process, shows that their recent rhetoric of bipartisanship is just self-serving posturing.

Open the doors, senator mcconnell! Let's have public hearings, let's have public debate! Let's include the American people in the process.

They blocked Obama for 8 years and are now killing the few projects he was able to accomplish. Boehner was constantly blocking all of his agenda and McConnell wouldn't even discuss a new Supreme Court pick for a year. We need to beat them at their own game and use any means possible. I am sick of the Repubs kicking sand in our faces. We need to grow a pair and let them have it non stop! This should be the new doctrine of the Dem Party.

Democrats are FAR too cautious generally. With this administration they should react with much greater abandon. And, come on! There is preaching about bipartisanship, but what the Republicans in the Senate are doing with health care is the antithesis of bipartisanship. Hone your message, Dems, and make the Republicans own their disregard for democracy. Drive it home!

"One Democratic source cautioned that the caucus may not go that far given the bipartisan atmosphere following the shooting at a congressional baseball practice Wednesday.

"bipartisan atmosphere"????? Bipartisan means BOTH parties....there hasn't been any sign of "bipartisanship" from the Repub side of the isle...just wallowing in sympathy for the shooting AND BLAMING IT ON DEMS...

Get this straight...Republicans have no intention whatsoever of cooperating, compromising or working with Dems in any way whatsoever.

We have nothing to lose..

BIPARTISANSHIP?....Get me a mirror 'cause I wanna see if I look like a fool!

it's kinda important to highlight, what the right wing republicans are all about, making deals behind closed doors, 13 "men", that's it.
Men that have a pre-existing condition, just like everyone else on this planet........................

Democrats need to use unanimous consent and filibuster every amendment and every penny in the mark-up, no excuses
