Evangelist Franklin Graham calls rounding up Iraqi Christians for deportation very disturbing
Source: Bangor Daily News
Prominent evangelist Franklin Graham says he finds it very disturbing that immigration authorities have arrested many Iraqi Christians for possible deportation. President Donald Trump promised earlier this year he would prioritize persecuted Christians, but many international religious freedom advocates say deporting these Christians back to Iraq could put them in serious danger.
Graham, who has been supportive of Trump and his travel ban, urged the president to have someone investigate the cases where dozens of Iraqi nationals were swept up in immigration raids in Michigan and Tennessee.
The arrests came after a deal the United States made with Iraq, which sought to be removed from Trumps proposed travel ban on seven Muslim-majority countries and agreed to accept deported Iraqis. Immigration authorities said all of the Iraqi nationals who were arrested had criminal convictions.
I understand a policy of deporting people who are here illegally and have broken the law, Graham wrote on Facebook on Friday. I dont know all of the details, but I would encourage our president to give great consideration to the threat to lives of Christians in countries like Iraq.

(8,962 posts)Franklin must not have heard. The term "Christian" is used as a cultural identifier these days and has nothing to do with adherence to the teachings of one Jesus Christ. So being non-white and foreign born are immediate disqualifiers. It's time to strike all that do-good verbage from the Sermon on the Mount and replace it with Dear Leader's "Get 'em outta here!". Yeah, that's perfect!!!

(2,145 posts)It's OK to deport Muslims but not Christians, according to grifter Franklin. It's OK for deported Muslims to be killed when they are repatriated, but not the same for Christians.. Got it.
OK, Frank, once again, let me tell you what Jesus says about that, because you have a habits of refusing or forgetting Jesus' teachings:
Matthew 25: 31-46 (relevant part quoted)
41 Then he (Jesus) will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.
44 They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?
45 He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

(26,371 posts)This is, of course, one of the legacies of George 'n Dick's Big Adventure--prior to the Iraq War, Iraq had a secular government that mostly left religious minorities alone. Iraq's Christian population is now about half of what it was before the war.

(5,801 posts)is to restore a white majority in the U.S. These kooks intend literally to kick out and keep out enough brown people--plus deny abortions to an increasingly white population--to reverse the trend towards minority status for whites. Their agenda is well documented but of course not adequately mentioned in the corprolitic media.
In the meantime, they're trying to keep the brown people from voting.

(14,165 posts)He grew up in wealth and privilege. Not massive wealth but I'm sure daddy had a nice nest egg built from his decades of selling his snake oil promises to the masses, and all the books he sold. And privilege coming out the yin yang as he no doubt was showered in the leftover respect and admiration that his father had amassed.
So its not unbelevable that he turned out to be something like Trump. He grew up with everyone around him treating him like the son of a biblical prophet. He saw how his father's business was already established and waiting for him, the lazy way to make your fortune, and no doubt looked over at his dad's crowds full of gullible sheep to be sheared over and over, and went all in. He milked their sob stories into donations to make them "whole again". Only he went further than his dad, he went all in as well politically with the most radical Tea Party base of the Republican party. and appealed to the lowest common "values". Racism, bigotry, sexism...nothing was off the table for him to use to gain followers (ie. money)
