A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging the legalization of medical marijuana in Arizona.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer filed a lawsuit against her own state’s medical marijuana law in May. She claimed that state employees could be in jeopardy because the state law conflicts with federal laws, despite Arizona’s former top federal prosecutor saying publicly the federal government has “no intention of targeting or going after people who are implementing or who are in compliance with state law.”

“It is unconscionable for Governor Brewer to continue to force very sick people to needlessly suffer by stripping them of the legal avenue through which to obtain their vital medicine,” said Ezekiel Edwards of the American Civil Liberties Union, which had urged the dismissal of the lawsuit.

“Today’s ruling underscores the need for state officials to stop playing politics and implement the law as approved by a majority of Arizona voters so that thousands of patients can access the medicine their doctors believe is most effective for them.”

I agree with the decision to file the lawsuit. I obviously want the lawsuit to fail but a black-letter precedent needs to be set, so that when states do legalize, cops know to follow those state laws (and not harass MJ users) rather than the harsh federal ones. It does put the LEOs in a position where they don't know what the law they should enforce should be, and that really needs to be cleared up for the benefit of both users and LEOs.

State law. The SCOTUS last year declined to review that decision, thus it stands. The cops can not chose to enforce Federal Law rather than State law. The feds can. The cops can't. So they should know which law to enforce as the courts ruled on that last year.

(pure THC capsules), I wouldn't have made it. However, the federal government has going after legal dispensaries here in California. Something's wrong with that. I'm just gled and Brewer had her hair and her wrinkley ass blown back with this dismissal.

I don't know anybody who is using such treatment. I am interested to hear about it and that it is effective.

hypocritically reverse their own dogma when it suits them. Repeatedly it's there for all to see but it seems the republican rank and file can't see it.

continue to work for the jurisdiction that hired and pays them, or step out of that role and act as Federal agents.
So far, they almost always do the latter, with (I think, hope) a few exceptions.
Anybody know of instances?

uses what is probably DMSO to treat her illness. (She would not name the exact substance she uses, but since it sounds like she has rheumatoid arthritis, I am assuming that is one of the things she does to control the affliction.)

We are all victims of the Big Pharma establishment. Despite the evidence of how much good comes to us via alternative medicines, many of which are used on a daily basis in other nations, we have our Corporate-Controlled scientists in place to influence those who hold the power.
