Trump Officially Nominates Christopher Wray to Head FBI
Source: The Daily Beast
President Trump has officially nominated attorney Christopher Wray to be the next FBI director, with the nomination now on its way to the Senate for approval. The Justice Department released a statement from Wray, a former assistant attorney general under President George W. Bush, late Monday. Saying that he was honored and humbled by the nomination, Wray stressed that he has been inspired by the men and women of the FBI throughout his career. If confirmed, it will be a privilege and honor to once again work with them. America faces grave threats both here and abroad, and the FBI, in concert with its federal, state, and local partners, continues to work steadfastly to prevent and hold accountable those responsible for these threats, Wray wrote. Trump announced Wray as his choice to lead the FBI on June 7, about a month after firing FBI Director James Comey.

(11,911 posts)Color me surprised.
Heck, even Newsmax has an article critical of him (removing mention of the case re: US/Russian energy exec), which absolutely surprised me.
Guess he should be OK if you believe Russia Today because their headline says "Trump to nominate 'impeccable' Christopher Wray as FBI Director". Maybe they misspelled it and meant to say "impeachable".

"Wray joined King & Spalding in 2005 as a litigation partner in the firms Washington, D.C., and Atlanta offices. King & Spalding clients include Rosneft and Gazprom, two of Russias largest state-controlled oil companies; Rosneft has been named in connection with the Donald TrumpRussia dossier controversy.[11][12] Wray represented several Fortune 100 companies and chaired the King & Spalding Special Matters and Government Investigations Practice Group.[2] During his time at King & Spalding, Wray acted as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's personal attorney during the Bridgegate scandal.[13][14] During the scandal, defense attorneys for a pair of Christie's inner circle sought access to Christie's missing cellphone.[15] Two years later, the phone turned up in Wray's possession.[16][14]"
