McConnell warns Trump over health bill failure

Source: Politico

If Obamacare repeal fails in the Senate, the GOP might be forced to compromise with Democrats.

By BURGESS EVERETT , JOSH DAWSEY and JENNIFER HABERKORN 06/27/2017 10:11 AM EDT

Mitch McConnell is delivering an urgent missive to staffers, Republican senators and even the president himself: If Obamacare repeal fails this week, then the GOP will lose all leverage and be forced to work with Chuck Schumer.

President Donald Trump continued to float the possibility on Monday that Congress and the White House would simply let Obamacare’s individual markets collapse if the GOP’s repeal effort goes down later this week. But McConnell called up Trump recently, according to people with knowledge of the call, to deliver a reality check.

Voters expect Republicans to deliver on their long-held promise to repeal the law, McConnell said, according to those people. And failing to repeal the law would mean the GOP would lose its opportunity to do a partisan rewrite of the law that could scale back Medicaid spending, cut Obamacare’s taxes and repeal a host of industry mandates.

Instead, Republicans would be forced to enter into bipartisan negotiations with Democrats to save failing insurance markets.

Rich people get not one penny less than all the money Repugs can steal from the poor and working class! That is their motto and driving force and McConnell just reminded Drumpf of that. Of course, Drumpf, being a total asshat, would rather ACA melt down and completely fail and leave millions with no coverage to sicken and die rather than let 1 penny out of his own pocket to care for the sick.

which expanded Medicaid under ACA and has a population of former miners who need supported health care in ways Trump and the Republicans promised!

"I gave you the Supreme Court" is a legacy (or infamy) McConnell will have in the history books.

"Voters expect Republicans to deliver on their long-held promise to repeal the law", McConnell said... yeah but Im sure if we ask "your voters" hey Mitch McConnell voters.... "is it ok if we fuck you when we kill the ACA. Is it ok that most of you Kentuckians are the ones along with every other poor red state voters part of the 22 million thats getting it up the butt". Hey MCConnell voters, is it ok if your mother or father can't afford their Nursing home anymore? no? but sorry we need to make sure that black man president's legacy is torn from its hinges never to be seen again.... Sorry red state voters, you are about 2-3 days away from being on the end of the largest stick in your ass you can imaging, and you know what sexist, racist voters? it's not coming from the mean, nasty white woman who sent e-mails that were not a problem, or the black guy that was president, it's coming from your own Senator, and his asshat president Fuckump.... let that sink in next time.

McConnell would give Charles Manson head before he'd work with democrats. The most wretchedly evil partisan POS in the senate - democrats exist to be slaughtered at any cost.

I interpret this as "Hey useless orange bag of gas, do some of that Queens extreme loyalty mob persuasion or this bill is going down and you/us with it."

I'm frankly sick of hearing Dems say that the ACA "has problems." The only problems are the result of compromising with repuke demands. Healthcare was well on its way to universal care for all until the likes of Mitch got their hands on it and strangled it.

you have to sue him and force a settlement out of him to make him stop anything or he'll keep on bullshitting forever.

A Republican should know THIS by now, you did the pp video& money laundering dossier on him last year and you have seen your presidents been sued thousands of times?
