Johnson: I Never Said I Opposed Senate Repeal Bill, I Just Needed More Time

Source: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ron-johnson-

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) on Wednesday morning clarified that he never outright opposed the Senate bill to repeal Obamacare and gave a more positive assessment of the legislation than he has offered previously.

“I never said I was ‘no’ on this bill. I was very hard ‘no’ in terms of taking a vote this week,” Johnson said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “That was absurd because we didn’t have the information, and now we’re starting to get some information.”

Johnson said on Monday night that he would vote to block the Senate bill from proceeding if leaders pushed for a vote this week. He also penned an op-ed in the New York Times on Monday arguing that the Senate bill does not adequately address the issues he sees with Obamacare. Senate GOP leaders have since delayed a vote on the bill until July.

This a quote from this idiot:

“First of all I did not agree with leadership when they immediately said we’re going to do this on a purely partisan basis. We should have focused on the damage done by Obamacare, the skyrocketing premiums,” Johnson said, adding later that “it’s not like Democrats are stepping up to the plate.”

Hey Johnson, lets get something straight, ever since 1964 and earlier, the Democratic party has been looking at how to get human beings on Medicaid and health care, if you think that we haven't stepped up to the plate, here if you read anything or something about what we did, what has your party done in comparison.....................and in other words Johnson, if you can be bribed by your illustrious 'leader" in your conference to screw people you will do it, it just depends on how you want the bribe money

Seriously a-hole? You Putin lovers did all this behind closed doors and would not allow Dems to get involved. Every Rep talking head would be raging counter talking points about his comment on TV radio, Twitter.

Dems?

Johnson over Feingold twice, Scott Walker wins three times without breaking a sweat. What else can you say? This is a red state.

The third is our dumpster fire of a State Dem. Party. And we just re-elected the same party leader (Martha Lanning) who oversaw the last fall election where Trump won, Johnson won, and the Republicans cemented their huge advantages in the State Capitol. Add to this the fact that we couldn't even come up with a candidate to oppose Walker's right wing Supreme Court judge, and there's not much reason for optimism in the short run.

You know she will be one of the GOP's top targets. I think she has at least an outside shot at staying in the Senate. If other red states (Mo, ND, MT for example) can elect Democrats, then WI can too.

Do you support "Badgercare?" Many people in Wisconson have state health insurance. Go on, tell them we should repeal that too!

You are a fraud and a joke and how any idiot in America's Dairyland could have voted for you in 2016 is beyond me!

17. Talk radio big factor in rural votes

Rural areas have no or poor access to the internet and many can only receive local news channels. So that leaves talk radio and we all know where that leads.

Dems have a difficult time finding rural meeting places. The Catholic church has a strangle hold in rural areas and they do not want us in their church halls.

My SIL suggested sending well versed emissaries to sit in rural taverns and engage in conversation with the locals. Might even buy a round or two. Taverns are the second best place to meet rural votes. Go on Fridays when many taverns have fish fries that bring out families. Not a bad ideas.

This could also help with the disaffected blue collar types in places around Milwaukee like West Allis and Cudahay. I'm afraid there's not much hope with the racist, xenophobic wealthy citizens in the suburbs and exurbs of Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington counties.
